I feel that, since it is all largely unfounded, that this "the left is trying to destroy this country with their radical views" thing is just a meme created to ignite an emotional response, and avoid an intellectual perspective, in order to cheaply win votes or contribute to our nation's divisiveness.

You're wasting time trying to explain policy with people who are ignoring actual policy in favor of boilerplate, rhetoric-filled talking points.

Maybe. Either way, it's fun for me.

My precinct was a little lighter than it was for the 2012 and 2016 elections, but still a good turnout. I think Merrill is way off on his predicted turnout....again. He is just the worst.

I was hoping Maddox could pull it off, but he seemed to lose some momentum in early October and never really regained it. He was a longshot to start with, but I guess we'll see.

He's a sanctimonious prick, and I'll leave it at that.

And yes, I've met him and dealt with him.

I have a good friend who was his law clerk this summer and she couldn't say enough good things about him.

Good for her. I also know several people that know him and speak highly of him. I don't share their opinion. It's fine. We're not all meant to get along and like everyone.

He had momentum like LSU's offense had momentum.

Personally, I think he ran a really vanilla campaign. It was an uphill battle and he needed to be aggressive.

Maybe. I think his biggest issue was he had an opponent that wasn't interested in engaging him, because she really didn't need to. She had 45% of the vote locked up the minute she won the primary.

Biggest issue was he is in the wrong party.

Every time you see Alabama come in 49th in any statistic, this ideology is a big reason why.
