He isn't wrong about Trump's questionable ability to pick people, which is probably why your response was so weak. Hell, Trump even hates his own AG and Rosentsien, both people he nominated.

What's it gonna take for society to learn some toleration?

The only intolerance these days is coming from the left. They are extremely intolerant of opposing views, as can clearly be seen in this thread.
Part of the problem is that they don't understand that toleration and acceptance are not the same things. I don't have to accept what you're doing to tolerate it, and just because I tolerate it doesn't mean I want anything to do with you or what you're doing. You go about your business, and I'll go about mine.

Common sense and someone downvoted. Typical intolerant leftists.

That's nothing. I would argue the logicalness of gay marriage and government's involvement in marriage at all.

When Ivey was on the field at BDS during halftime, I was really hoping Maddox was going to come out of the tunnel WWE style and demand a debate.

The only thing Ivey has going for her is the (R) next to her name, which is all she needs. Other than that, she’s basically a puppet who’s propped up by her staff and donors.
It’s amazing, but not surprising, how she will coast through this election.

You're probably right, but Alabamians have shown they will cut bait with blantant corruption. Back in the day, the state was deep blue until the 1986 Gubernatorial race when the Dems forced Baxley even though Graddick won the primary.
If Alabama has shown one consistency, its a limited appetite for corruption.

We’ve also shown a remarkable consistency for voting in incumbents no matter what.
This story is disturbing and not the least bit surprising, but it won’t even appear on the radar of most AL voters.

I don't see this at all. The corruption in this state is rampant, and we still elect the same type folks election after election. And there's very little public demand to beef up the ethics commission. Mike Hubbard still had strong support up until his conviction, and I suspect he'd still win were he able to run for office.

Unfortunately not a problem limited to Alabama, but I agree. The problem is most people just aren't engaged, and of the people that actually do vote, most only vote in the general elections. So only a small sliver of the voting public votes in primaries. I used to work the polls, and it was sad how few people would vote in primaries. We'd go hours with only a handful of people showing up.
And I don't know how to fix that. I think people are just so turned off by politicians, it's not worth their time.

I would have voted in the primary if we didn't have this bullshite crossover law.

It only applies to runoffs. You can vote in either primary you want to in Alabama, but can only vote in a runoff if you voted in that party's primary.
I'd like to see Alabama expand voting and offer early voting, Saturday voting, extended poll hours, etc. Not sure those in control want that though as it would be a threat to their power. Lower turnout heavily favors incumbents.

Yes, I know. That's why I wanted to keep my options open.
