I think that the CFP rankings will be:

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. TCU
4. USC
5. Bama
6. Ohio State

Solid list, right?

Not with a defense that simply refuses to account for a running QB.

Michigan and Georgia both run old school offenses that should be easier for Bama to defend

USC would be tough to stop with the QB they have

If we’re ranking teams based on recruiting rankings, let’s just not play the games. A&M is not a good team. They’re terribly coached on offense, and it’s shown all season.

What is the justification for ranking Alabama over TCU even if TCU loses?

Record = TCU - 12-1 vs 10-2

P5 record = TCU - 10-1 vs 7-2

Wins vs bowl eligible teams = TCU - 8 vs 5

Better loss = TCU - neutral Kansas State in a rematch is a better loss than 4 loss LSU

Best win = TCU - Kansas State is a better win than anything we have.

Common opponent = TCU - TCU looked much better @Texas than we did.

We might need BOTH TCU and USC to lose to get in. I was hoping the AP would put Bama ahead of Ohio St today, but they didn't. I know the CFP is completely separate from the AP, but public perception has to have an effect on committee members. Now with the AP out, the "easy" thing for them to do is slot Ohio St #5... even if it's not the right thing.

According to TeamRanking.com, TCU's schedule difficulty is rated #9 in the country, Alabama's is rated #1 in the country. We lost both our games on the last play of the game (one in overtime), on the road, with a starting QB playing with a separated throwing shoulder. The committee is supposed to take injuries to key players into account as part of their criteria.

Usc loses and they're out.

Tcu likely out, as well.

A Um loss to Purdue would also go a BIG way in the OSU vs Bama resume comparison given all context and recency bias.

It's a very long shot. I'm on the CFP Longshot or Orange Bowl plan for Bama. Selfishly happy with either. Both are long shots given the dominoes that would need to fall to keep Bama out of the Sugar Bowl

A lot of people on the rant are really dissecting this. We have to wait for Tuesday. If we are ahead of OSU that’s task 1. Task 2 is someone USC or TCU losing.

Here is another POSSIBLE issue....

We were 7...8 and 9 both lost...guess who is at 10?

10rc....

So let's say we are 6, and they are 7....tcu and usc both lose...the argument will be 10rc beat us and lsu, at lsu where we also lost...I know their losses were blowouts, but still...they beat us and may have the better resume...

no, they got absolutely blow out by USC. Worst loss for a top 10 team since Iowa punted Ohio St in 2017.

It was bad...but not as bad now with usc winning at Clemson...plus, again, 10rc beat us...just a possible problem

There was talk on the radio about this today. Which makes me think we will be 5 now. The belief is how do you justify UA one spot in front of UT. So the poll comes out with UA 5, OSU 6, and UT 7 with OSU acting as a buffer.

The truth is UT is now being judged without Hooker where UA is now being judged with a healthy Young.

The AP also had Clemson ahead of UA last week including the coaches poll. The committee saw otherwise. So not to concerned about what the AP and Coaches poll does.

Yeah, coaches and AP doesn't mean shite at this point.

This all depends on who the committee ranks at 5 and 6. I truly think OSU will get ranked above us, but willing to be surprised. Then we would need USC to lose, I think TCU is in regardless.

If TCU loses why should they be in? They will not be a conference champion and they play in the weakest power 5 league. I’d bump them out personally. Same for USC and Michigan.

That’s the first hurdle. If we are 6 both TCU and USC have to lose unfortunately.

I feel like the trend going is we will be 5 but who the hell knows at this point. They might surprise us all lol.
