Agreed. Following Saban is something you'll only survive if you want to do it. If you have to be talked into it you're probably going to fail. It's a monumental task and only someone with massive balls and endless confidence will be able to pull it off successfully.

Curious to know if he really makes a statement today.

I think there's no chance we get through the day without knowing if it is or isn't Lanning. Lots of speculation for about 16 hours now and he hasn't said anything. That tells me he's probably open to it at the very least.

Sources also said that Byrne asked the players to wait 72 hours before making any decisions about their future. That tells me he has a lineup that he's working through, and it lends credence to the Lanning is up, Kiffin is next theory.

Norvell had his entire team quit on him during the bowl game. He has a culture problem. Do not want.

Exactly.
I personally didn’t like him before that happened but now I want to puke every time I hear his name.

That's exactly why i didn't renew. If lanning says in 2 hours that he is accepting the job, Tim will claim he knew, but was told not to tell.

They all do this

See now this is what I would not do...

Get in a back and forth over Lanning.

He would be a yes or no with me.

That's not how it works. There are contractual details that ned to be worked out. If you're hiring premium talent, they have options and a lot of them are usually tied to big dollars.

You also don't want to go into a relationship with your most high-value employee on a my way or the highway attitude, you need a collaborative working arrangement. This will be your first engagement to feel out what that looks like and if you come in and demand a yes or no, that's a quick way to poison the well.

I actually think the program is in such great shape that the next HC will be successful out the gate no matter who it is.
A guy like Norvell or DeBoar could be our Coach O.

I hear people talk about Nike and all the money and stock options and BS, yet coaches leave there all all the time.

Our Coach, the most highly sought after coach in the game, has turned down many offers over the years, college and pro, is very wealthy and ownes multiple prestigious businesses and three homes worthy of Hollywood stars.

Can't people just admit that, if your good at your job, nothing pays like Bama Football?

There is no place that will be right beside you, giving you all you want and need like UA.

Saban is a legend. But that program is also responsible for all the success we have had.

Hypothetically speaking… If we do somehow end up with Dabo, would y’all eventually get behind him? I know he’s struggled with the portal and such but if he is willing to mold and gets fired up about coming back home then we would have to be willing to see he wants to do whatever it takes to win.

The man would have 4 natties at CLEMSON if not for Bama and the goat. Nobody else has even sniffed that success.

This only assuming he gets fired up about it and not just in a sad state to where his heart is not in it and therefore not willing to adjust.

If Dabo really wants it, meaning he’s willing to come home and do what it takes to win in todays game. He’s my guy.

Don’t freakin kill me please, love y’all. Roll Tide either way!!

Yeah I'm not big on DeBoer at all. People want to bring up Bo Nix, but DeBoer and Penix have the same relationship, and DeBoer lacks the SEC connections that Lanning has.

Supposedly an On3 Oregon moderator said Lanning is staying at Oregon and he's about to put out a statement that he's staying.

To the extent that I want my alma mater to be successful at everything, yes.

On a personal level? No. He's a sanctimonious dipshit who thinks football games are determined by which team is more Christian. frick him and frick every other coach who plays that bullshite.

Norvell is Gene Chizik with Cam Newton right now. He’ll lose 4+ games next year with DJU starting.

Not with that schedule. DJU is better than what Dabo got out of him, and the 'Noles have a breeze of a schedule. If he loses four games I'd be shocked.

I believe Dabo is someone who's buyout is actually a challenge. Please correct me if I'm off, but isn't his buyout something like $60 million, with a Bama clause that adds a 1.5x multiplier?

That's a lot of money for someone who's shown to be resistant to how the game currently works.

Everyone talks about following a legend with no mention of how strong GOAT left the program. I would not want to follow Belichick because the Patriots are garbage now. Let’s be honest, Bama was starting to slip during Bear’s final year. His last game was the fricking Liberty Bowl.
