Tommy Rees somehow gets the job, I say we try to melt so hard that we crash the website. Hold nothing back.
I don’t think we’d have to try. It’d be as organic of a melt as any time LSU loses to Alabama.

The big problem is there aren't really that many elite coaches out there right now.
Wrong. There are fantastic coaches out there that would thrive if they had the resources of an elite program

I am in the massive minority, still holding out hope for Dabo. But know that is along shot

Tommy Rees or Trent Dilfer? Who you got, both would be perfect, no wrong answers.

Outside of “he’s won 2 rings” explain why you would want anything to do with Dabo in the 2024 CFB landscape

I can’t believe some of you took an obvious joke/troll about Dilfer a couple pages back and ran with it. This thread is wild.
I assumed it was a joke but hiring Norvell would be a joke too and many media personalities have mentioned him. I’d take Trent or even freaking Tommy over Norvell any day.

Rees. He hasn’t even been a HC yet

I believe you meant Jeff Tedford.

Yeah but his face isn't as stupid looking so I think that is a wash, right

You could very easily convince this site of anything when it comes to coach searches. Before Brian Kelly was hired, someone posted an "article" about Riley going to LSU. After tracing the sources, the original source was... a different thread earlier that day from the Coaching Changes Board.

Wasn't Cristobal the heir apparent just a couple of years ago?

I’m not a fan of Dabo and like I said earlier I think Dabo is closer to retirement than people realize because of the new rules but if he came and said he would embrace the portal and NIL would you want him then ?

Considering my post is already 0 upvotes and 7 downvotes

Not even a question. Fans would largely be willing to give Dabo a fair shot, even if there's some doubt. Rees... not so much. It would be worse than Schiano at Tennessee

The recruiting stuff is a concern
After the media blitz of the past few days (and presumably the coming months), including all of these personalities and athletes proclaiming him to be the greatest of all time, imagine being 17-years old and going into BDS, taking the elevator up, and walking into Nick Saban's office overlooking the field.
He proceeds to tell you about the entire team in place at the university, including himself, who are going to help you create value for you. He's put almost 50 guys into the first round of the NFL draft, and now he wants to help you achieve everything you've ever wanted, as a special part of the most prominent, facilities-laden college football program in history.
For the types of athletes that we want, I think we'll be just fine with him as a closer.

This is what I’ve been thinking this whole time.

I know I’m beating a dead horse but the correct answer is Norvell. Anyone who comes in is going to have immediate success because of what Saban has built. Norvell would likely make the playoffs for 2 years get an extension and then start losing 4-5 games a year.
