Kight and Cohen could’ve competed for a starting job, but there is no guarantee either would start.

Kight would need Steen to leave, would’ve been at RT due to Latham taking LT and would’ve been pushed by the young guys coming up or out if Booker went RT.

Cohen would need to beat out the young guys as well and sounded like he was carrying a lot of baggage.

I don’t see how losing either is a disaster but will impact depth for sure.

We will be ok next year. Saban looks to be cleaning out the house and next year team will be hungry after hearing how they are washed up nothing.

Coordinators not hired away to high profile jobs always have quite arrivals and departures.

The amount of transfer in the country is just insane. We have a few starters leaving some teams have like 7 leaving. Holy crap

Can we assume that most of everyone who is entering the transfer portal are all doing it this week, and maybe this big exit is nearing it's end?

USCe TE/RB Jaheim Bell is in the portal. Really good hybrid move TE, Bama offered out of HS.

So there are 12 right now. So 8-13 more? If so what are they waiting for?

IDK about that, but this transfer portal cycle is bonkers. People transfering left and right, and we already have 13 transferring out.

All I know right now is Trey is probably going to Colorado to join his uncle. Anything else is fair game

I’m going to guess Saban is meeting with players now and strategically encouraging some of them to look elsewhere. No doubt he already has his eye on half a dozen or more studs in the portal he has to make room for in addition to a class of 25-30 new guys. The room is needed. Now, we just need to rebuild the staff but that won’t happen until after signing day.

Jojo Earle WR

Easy to see why we've had problems on OL and WR the last two seasons. Slammed down hard with busts at this positions apparently.

Most of these players are leaving because of what the staff has told them regarding their future here.
Perhaps that’s why James is staying and Tommy Brockermeyer leaving.
Wish Leary, Kight and Jo Jo had stayed but it is what it is.

In past years, I would agree with you. Now? I think players see the writing on the wall. Saban is playing out the string. If BooB and Goldung stay, turn out the lights.

We see them a lot less than the coaches, but I always thought Kight and Bowles looked decent in the garbage time they got to play. Hard to judge based on that, though.

Curious if Tyler Steen is taking his super senior year, would explain the bottom falling out of the OT depth if there's no opening.

Steen coming back would be huge. I also wonder about Burton. Wouldn’t mind having him back either although he was underwhelming.

This crap is absolutely destroying the game. This is awful. College football free agency is ridiculous. We've gone from being hammered for some players loaning text books to now players shopping around for the best money offers to transfer.

Anyway, Brockermeyer has to be one of the biggest recruiting disappointments of the Saban era. I really thought he'd anchor a tackle spot for 2 years for us.

Please tell me Drunk Azz has entered the transfer portal to anywhere.

Apparently Traeshon Holden was a done deal to Iowa, put they pulled his offer over grades.
