He also used to post up at bars with his all white no logo fitted hat and just be an absolute tool.

2004 defense was better IMO.

The 2004 offensive line was legit too. If Brodie doesn't tear his ACL, that team wins 8 to 10 games. I think LSU is the only team that still would have beat Alabama

2004 team was definitely a solid team with a healthy Brodie. I can't say they go 11-1, but that's definitely a 8-4/9-3 team.

Probably beat South Carolina and Tennessee. Arkansas game is completely different with a QB. Auburn, I mean who knows. The game itself is played differently if we have a QB - Auburn isn't sitting on a lead the whole 2nd half knowing we can't score.

We probably weren't winning in Baton Rouge, but even that game was close until the most bullshite of all bullshite no calls ever on the PI on Keith Brown in the endzone. Not to mention missing an open WR in the endzone that would have made it 14-3 near halftime instead of 10-3.

That missed PI is the maddest I've ever seen Mike Shula.

Marc Guilin was AWFUL in that game.

We win that game if they call that PI. Now one could argue Keith Brown may have flopped a little but I don’t see it. Webster shoved his arse.

It's crazy to me how a small handful of events are the only reason we are where we are today. If Brodie doesn't tear his knee up in 2004 Shula probably would have been able to survive 2006. If Tebow hadn't grown up in a household that was the equivalent to a University of Florida shrine, he probably signs with us and Shula survives more than just 2006. And then there's Rita. Holy shite, if not for Rita...

Some of my favorite memories from the guys mentioned.

Demeco Ryan- the 25 tackle game against Arkansas. I was at this game 3rd row behind Arkansas bench and couldn’t see shite. I thought Brian Bostick made the game winning FG(he missed)and celebrated and my whole section looked at me like I was crazy. Blew a 31-10 lead in that one. fricking Matt Jones.

Roman Harper-Obviously the forced fumble for a TB against Tennessee. All time play in Bama history

Freddie Roach- His pick 6 against MTSU to put the game away.

Wallace Gilberry- His comments about Horsecollar people.

Charlie Peprah- His INT/Strip for a TD to give us the lead in the 4th q vs UGA. Didn’t matter because they drove down the field for a game winning FG by Billy Bennett

The new-age fans that came with Saban don't really care IMO.

New age fans? Nick has been here over a decade, these are natural home grown fans who only know him. The in-state young adults at UA right now weren't even football conscious when Shula was around due to being in like third grade, certainly not for the Mike Price debacle or Franchione's saga.

Many of the kids walking a graduation this weekend weren't ALIVE when Shaun Alexander won the SEC in 1999.

The seniors graduating next month were in 1st grade when Shula was fired. Shitting on them for being "new age fans" because of when they were born is fricking stupid. As someone who didn't get to see much good football during college, I hope we get 30 years worth of those kind of fans.

Yeah he was. Do y'all remember the legend that was Michael Machen? He was this 6'5" dude built like Jake Coker and allegedly had a cannon. Only heard about him though. Dude never played a down that i remember.

Yeah. He was from Mobile, too.

He transferred to Kent State, started for a year I think, then got beat out by ....Julian Edelman.

Had Prothro not gotten hurt, that team might've gone a lot farther. After his injury, the offense really stalled out, and we relied on defense and Kenneth Darby the rest of the way.
