Who would you have start?

I would start Simpson. I don’t know what the problem is with him but I don’t see one that comes close to Milroe.

This won't be determined until the Ole Miss game, IMHO.

Wouldn't surprise me for CNS to screw around and lose the Ole Myth game with Milroe and then make the change.

I'm slightly more optimistic. I think we'll see Buchner start vs Ole Miss or we'll see him replace Milroe in that game, and we will win.

Unfortunately I think Milroe will start vs. USF

Y’all keep talking about them bringing blitzes or stacking the box but neither of those really happened that often. They played two high all game and whipped our arse with 3-4 for the most part.

there needs to be plays for his run option and designed runs.

Did you watch the game. Hes not intuitive as a runner at all. Also struggles with timing, angles and how to break the line. Is not very aggressive. For how fast he is, hes not that great of a DT QB. Its really perplexing how bad he was at missed opportunities and poor running attempts against wide open chances vs UT.

I agree. No pocket awareness and no overall situational awareness. I've been watching Bama football since Shula was the QB and it was the worst QB performance I've seen at Bama.

Not the ‘worst’ QB performance, but it was pretty fricking bad. You’re spot on with no pocket/situational awareness. Tua, Mac, and Bryce were so good at navigating within a 5x5 yard box and buying time with fantastic footwork. Milroe - for the athlete that he is - seems clumsy.

Not even close? Milroe has to be on the short list for worst QB to ever play at Alabama - at least from a passing standpoint

You'd probably have to go back to the pre-Bryant days

You take away Milroe's legs and what is he?

I think it may have been a very bad case of nerves on Milroe's part. I know he's been tutored by private coaches as well as Bama's staff for 2 years prior. I think he freaked out on the big stage and his brain went blank.

We had a QB go 6 of 11 for 58 yards passing in a national championship game under Saban.

Not exactly.
I think he freaked out and went blank because he couldn't process what Texas's defense was doing. It was all moving way too fast for him out there. He looked completely shell-shocked

Spotted the person too young to know who Spencer Pennington and Brandon Avalos were.

And ZERO interceptions. And we won the game.

He did what we needed him to do.

McElroy also went on to play for the New York Jets, and was a decent backup QB.

Milroe doesn't belong in the same sentence as Championship-winning, Rhodes scholar McElroy

Doesn't mean it wasn't a horrendous performance by McElroy.

He was abysmal that night.

If he can catch he'd be an awesome TE. I could see a QB package for him...but there is absolutely no way he should be QB1 for another minute.

McElroy was playing hurt in that game. He was MVP of the SECCG prior to that.
