Energy was phenomenal tonight. After last week, I was genuinely worried that the team would regress further. Not loose, but struggle. They played their asses off. Yea the talent mismatch was huge, but Bama played pissed off for 60 minutes. Good game.

We needed to execute and play with focus, effort and fire tonight, regardless of who was on the other sideline, and we did that. I hope the players do enjoy themselves tonight. They absolutely earned it. I also hope they get up tomorrow realizing that the moment is over and we need to maintain what we showed tonight and not take a step backward.

I saw the Bama/VPI blowup 77-6 when I was a student in the early '70s. Tonight was almost a carbon copy of that game!!

on a train underpass in Bessemer somebody spray painted, “36-0. Even VPI got 6”. Stayed there for YEARS.

The program had hit rock bottom because of the sanctions. Then the whole ridiculousness of the textbook scandal when we had several key players suspended. Even still, I never expected to lose to the clowns from ULM. Tough lesson learned for future teams to reference.

Bama hasn’t played with that intensity since the 1H against UGA last year.

I don’t care what the score was, the players were on fire and executed very well.

My concern wasn’t really that we lost to FSU really who I think is actually pretty good.

What I had a major problem with was that the players didn’t seem to have any pride and the coaches looked like they didn’t have a functional plan.

All of this. I'll add that we are a totally different team in the road still.

Yep. Tonight and next week matter very little.

The first 3 SEC games will tell us about 70% of what we’ll need to know about whether we’ve truly learned our lessons. At SC, OK at home, and at AU will be the other key lessons learned moments.

UT and LSU at home are losable, but we’ll probably be prepared and be fired up for those even if we come up short.
