Execution from our quarterback wasn’t our issue last week. If it was I’d get your point, but we both know we’re not benching Ryan Williams for drops

This is just PR fluff IMO

Agree but look closely at the specific scenario I described, although my comment was more of a read between the lines deal. If one of the backups shows out and separates himself from the pack and Ty still has some of the issues he had in Tallahassee.

I’m hoping that doesn’t happen. I’m in Ty’s corner until and unless he shows that he’s not going to work out.

They’re not being judged on vibes or feelings. They’re being judged on results. If Mack doesn’t give you a better chance to win they’re not going to put themselves against the wall at this point to placate the peanut gallery.

I remember Saban blasting some fan at a booster event for asking why our best LT was playing RT. His response was “who told you he’s a better left tackle”. It’s the same schtick.

If Austin Mack throws for 50 more yards in relief against little sisters of the poor and DeBoer starts him solely because the fans think he’s a better quarterback based on that, then he’s coaching himself out of the facility.

We’re closer than it appears on this. I’m basically just playing devil’s advocate here.

I said this week that I don’t care what the score is tonight. It’s irrelevant. We need to play hard and execute. If we do that, points will come.

I’m talking about DeBoer and Grubb potentially seeing something from the other QBs that gives them the thought that one of them might have a better grasp on the offense, a better grasp on his reads, better awareness and comfort in the pocket, is more on target to his receivers.

It may not happen, this all might be an intellectual exercise. And you certainly wouldn’t do it based on this game.

But if things are still not optimal moving forward, I don’t think DeBoer can afford to stay with his No. 1 until the bitter end as he did with Milroe, because his job might be at stake.

On3 is reporting the plan is to play all 3 QBs tonight with hopes of getting Austin Mack on the field as early as the 2nd quarter.

I like it. Just do something different. Don’t line up in 4 wide and run up the middle against a 7 man box and gain 1 yard.

Remember that time when some Bama posters thought Kiffin was materially better than DeBoer, and wanted us to pay about $170mm to fire DeBoer and hire Kiffin?

Is it though?

Williams hasn't looked good in almost 10 games now.

I’m here for it. I want to see hustle and line of scrimmage dominance. Score will take care of itself.

ETA: Run the damn ball!

Well, at least we'll have a better idea of what we're working with after tonight. I'm not hopeful for the rest of the season, but I do now feel like a tiny part of me might still be capable of hope this year.

Did DeBoer really make Hubbard a team captain for this game after last week?

Yeah, he ain’t it
