I think his play and especially without Smitty in the 2nd half, should have won him the MVP. I mean it’s all good but I just think he gets overlooked at times.

I agree. That kid just keeps proving all the doubters wrong and never seems to get any recognition worth a damn.

Edit: No offense to Smitty.

Dude left his mark in the record books. He has played himself into the 1st Round, IMO.

He's got a hot girlfriend, just won a natty breaking all the records, and should get drafted to a decent team at the bottom of the first round. I think he's doing fine.

Most underrated player on the team, amongst the fans.

I was hoping he got the MVP. Smitty was deserving too, but he has plenty of hardware. But the championship was their real goal so I dont think Mac or DeVonta would have cared either way.

If Mac Jones had been a 5 star recruit, he would’ve won the Heisman. Those HS rankings follow you

Someone was getting robbed considering both he and 6 set records.

Najee is an all time great. There's no other way to say it.

This is unfair - particularly to Smitty.

Here's the Heisman mission statement:

The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. The winners of the trophy epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.

Mac stayed at Bama knowing he'd sit behind Jalen and Tua. Smitty came back for a senior season despite knowing he could leave and make millions in the NFL.

There simply wasn't a wrong answer when picking between the two, but Smitty had the advantage of being on the field for four seasons. He was pretty well known starting with the 2017 title game. Mac, on the other hand, wasn't even considered a lock to be the 2020 starter by most Bama fans this time last year. That, and not the number of stars on his 247 composite, is the biggest thing that hindered him in the Heisman race.

Mac probably should have been game offensive MVP last night considering how he kept rolling when Smith went out. I was hoping Smith would hand it to him on the stage or at least credit him.

He got his awards though. Probably should have been co-Heismans though. The guy set the SECCG passing record and followed it up by setting the CFP NC game passing record.

Let that sink in.

Those are great, but there's just something about the immediate recognition after a huge game that does not compare. I've been in competitions (not football) where a Gold metal at my position felt more rewarding at times than the overall crown, because that was more of a team award.

3rd in Heisman voting

Edit - Surge beat me to it. I should really read the whole thread first.
