Deserves some praise...

Look at what happens when you contain/set the edge and play your gaps. All those big runs Vandy made was because of not playing your run fits properly.

People who don't understand football thinks the run defense is terrible. I told you last week they wasn't.

Look what happened in the second half lol!

The two explosive plays were classic “bad Bama run defense”.

The 2H defense was elite and Kane deserves massive credit for the adjustments in scheme they made.

Jefferson was nails.

The 2H QB pressure on a mobile QB was outstanding.

They did well as the game went on...good on them for seemingly correcting things in-game and not just getting cooked for 60 minutes.

Agreed. Don’t know what to do with Kane but he made some very serious adjustments to shut them down entirely.

I’ll give him the flowers he deserves but the game is 4 quarters. Figure that out and I’ll welcome him in TTown with open arms and cold beers.

Thought defense played good today (for the most part). We had a few broken plays but it happens.

The issue for the past few years is consistency. Time to start stacking good performances.

The Safety or slow developing blitzes will not go away, unfortunately.

I don't think adjustments were made.

I just think he told certain people to stay in their lane and attack!

It's that simple.

3.5 great quarters of defense. Hoping to see a complete game soon.

He’s made great adjustments since he’s been here. But too often getting caught flat footed in the early going.

In due time.

I just want them to continue getting better one game at a time.

There were a lot of new players on the field tonight.

Our staff is going to put the best guys on the field now. I love that

Kinda feel like that's the difference. Our younger players are better at attacking.

Kane watches film, these teams aren't doing anything different during our game that they don't normally do. Getting beat early then supposedly making adjustments to stop a team that you've watched film on makes no sense. How come you didn't have a game plan that reflects what the opposing team always does?

Just not a fan, happy with the win, hope I'm terribly wrong and the guy improves along with the defense.

Terrible first quarter but better the second quarter. Second half was nearly elite and as much as I hate to admit it because I’m still not a fan, Womack did a good job tonight

We played a lot more 4 down as the game progressed. In fact, I think I saw some essentially 5-2 sorta looks though the personnel may have been 3 DL, 3 LBs, and box safety. Regardless, we were getting more bodies in the gaps while keeping the receivers in front of us on the backend.

It is the first time I've seen us adequately defend a run game like Vandy's scheme in 1.5 seasons with Wommack. The pass rush is probably cooked in 2025 due to injuries but if we can just keep teams from running it down our throats then we can let our secondary ball hawk and have the occasional blitz look to catch opponents off guard.

We gave up two big plays to an FEI #8 offense that had been lethal on the ground and then gave up like 22 yards on 18 carries the rest of the way.

It was the most impressive run defense showing of the DeBoer/Wommack era by far.

Okay, there was literally no adjustments that needed to be made schematically.

Bray Hubbard didn't fit his gap on a big RUN (FIRST HALF), Zabien Brown didn't fit his gap on a big RUN (FIRST HALF), and Deontae Lawson was the same way!

So all Kane Wommack had to do was tell them to stop overthinking it and just play your gaps. Do your ASSIGNMENTS!

THAT SIMPLE!
