Why would we not hire Pruitt. The mans resume is incredible and the best DC Saban ever had.

I think you may have guessed it correctly.

Unfortunately...

Pruitt is worth his weight in gold simply as a talent evaluator. He and Saban were the absolute best judges of talent/potential.

Do whatever it takes to get him in the building, then see how few F's I've got about anybody calling to see if they can sway Kayla DeBoer back up north.

Pruitt would be too hard-azz for Deboer.

He would be a perfect fit for Kiffin. What an upgrade from Golding.
If he is available we should absolutely grab him.

Yep perfect timing for Lane to make a run at him. I’d really like him back at Alabama. He brings that fire and intensity we sometimes lack.

Only if Pruitt is fine with being a position coach or analyst. It's not like Lane is going to make him DC after giving Baker a giant contract.

Same deal with fAU, where Golesh decided to keep Durkin.

It'll be interesting to see whether Pruitt decides to take a position coach/analyst job or holds out for an actual DC job.

LSU just gave a monster contract to Baker to keep him from leaving. Kiffin isn't hiring Pruitt as a DC.

He'd be good as an analyst, but our defensive positions coaches have mostly been good. We really just need to improve at DL coach. Roach is a decent recruiter, but his player development and scouting has been mediocre for years.

Throughout his career, Pruitt has mostly coached ILBs and DBs.

I can't imagine KDB would outright replace Morrell, Jason Jones, or Linguist with Pruitt unless one of them left for another job.

DeBoer is not hiring him here. Pruitt may end up at Ole Miss or LSU to be quite honest.
