Jimbo Gets His RF QB 52 Pass Attempts - CNS TF QB Gets 11 Attempts

Say what you want about Jimbo, but the man knows how to develop/get a QB ready. He has proven that numerous times, and the performance of his RF QB last night is the latest example.
Jimbos philosophy clearly is different from that of CNS. On the big stage, under the bright lights, Jimbo decided to start his most talented QB, a redshirt freshman.
The kid answered with one helluva performance, and will clearly have the confidence of his team going forward.
Jimbos RF QB had 33 completions on 52 attempts for 419 yards, and 2 TD's. He added another 60 yards on 9 carries.
52 pass attempts... At the rate Hurts is getting reps it would take him nearly 4 games to amass that amount of experience.
CNS decided to get his TF QB 11 pass attempts before yanking him for another QB.
With SEC play beginning in two weeks vs a team with a gunslinger at QB how does this board feel about the presumed starter having 11 pass attempts in his career ?
Should an emphasis be placed on getting one of the QB's more repetitions before SEC play ? Or will you be satisfied with another split of repetitions ?
There is a saying, "if you have two QB's, you dont have one."
I'll keep my opinion to myself for the time being, but I am curious how the board feels about this ?
What would you do if you were having to prepare this team for SEC play ?

To some degree, FSU had to throw it 52 times because Dalvin Cook was getting nothing, they were playing from behind for 2/3 of the game and Ole Miss secondary looked like a sieve. I don't think Jimbo was aiming for or even comfortable with Francois taking 52 attempts but that's what the flow of the game dictated.
I'm not at all comfortable with Hurts game experience. I hope he gets a ton of time vs WKU

What do you people want? You convinced yourselves he was the best, melted when it looked like he wouldn't play. Should be rejoicing at his talent he displayed. But Christ. You really want 52 pass attempts a game?

Call me when Jimbo has 5 rings.

Jimbo has a true freshman starting at QB?
You might want to rethink that.

One, Jimbo's QB is a redshirt freshman. Two, Maguire was hurt, their true freshman QB was suspended, and their only other scholarship QB is a guy that probably won't play much, if at all, while at FSU. Jimbo didn't have much of a decision on who to start...
As for the 52 pass attempts, I'm assuming that's because they fell pretty far behind and their running game wasn't clicking...

They had a thing up during the game last night comparing the first starts for all the freshmen QB's of the league. I thought they were all TF because of some of the things they said, but I suppose I made the mother of all frick ups and assumed they were all TF's.
I am eternally sorry. In the future I'll try to do better research before posting from the hip from my phone. But hopefully this mistake will not derail the point of the thread.
I've edited the thread title and any reference of TF I think.

Well I imagine if Alabama had fallen behind by 22 points early, Hurts might have thrown it more...
Honestly, it's probably not very smart to compare their usage considering each game was different.

Do I want 52 pass attempts ? No I guess it doesn't have to be 50 +, but how about more than 11 ?
Would that seem reasonable to you, or is the point of this thread silly to you ? Honest question.

We won by 46 points. Why pass more when you don't need to? I'd rather grind a team out on the ground than try to throw all over them. It runs the clock and tires out the defense.

You call me when Jimbo loses to ole miss two years in a row, or mishandles a QB situation. Assuming not having a QB ready to start conference play last year was the reason for the loss to OM thus considered a "mishandling." I dont know; you tell me.
Is history repeating itself this season ? Just asking.

This is next level holy shite
Jimbo was down by 3 touchdowns and his Heisman RB was getting shut the f down. He had to throw.
Hell, it was the exact same game as ours last year with them except this game Ole Miss didn't get a helmet bounce TD and they were the ones with the turnovers.
Are you seriously complaining about our Game 1 and how the QB thing was handled? Jeebus.

For the experience.
Everything involved with the passing game from the drop, to the read, to the delivery is rep dependent.
Some teams will completely commit to stopping the run, and the QB's will have to be able throw the ball.
This is the question I am asking. Are the reps important ? Or are you comfortable with the reps being distributed the way they are with SEC play two weeks away ?
You obviously feel like the in game reps are not that important according to your post above, and that is fine. I'm not saying I know what to do; I'm asking what everyone else thinks.
So... Thank you for your input.

Lol how mad are you we were right and you were dead wrong?
On a scale from 0 to 10, ¥ would say 100.
Bring on your downvotes!

I'm guessing we throw a lot on Saturday, like we almost always do in these 2nd games vs Sun Belt/CUSA teams.

The point of the thread has eluded most everyone responding.

What else would they have done Saturday. We had like 12 big plays and it went from 17-3 to 38-3.
We only ran 63 plays, at least 15% of which were in a span when the game was in doubt. It went from tight to 4 TDs in a matter of 10 minutes. And even then we were still throwing.
