I don't think he's as fast as a lot of people think.

I think the opposite. I think he's much faster than people realize.
He's not very agile in small spaces, but his top end speed is insane. He can blow past DBs.
Players have said he's the fastest guy on the team.

I think Milroe is Need for Speed: Pursuit. Down Hill speed, raw power. Ty is like GTA, steal whatever car you need to get the mission done, just versitle in that way. From what we've seen I think Ty's legs are his best attribute at QB. I think if he doesn't take starting job later this year he may look for a spot that highlights his strengths, especially with the talent behind him.

I'm not sure how anyone can have an opinion of either QB after that first game.

This is definitely a check in the box for Jalen making some progress right?

Ty Simpson does all of this. He doesn’t have the top end speed Milroe does, but he’s possibly the fastest P4 QB not named Milroe.

Are you serious?
Ty Simpson runs like Bryce Young. He's nifty with his legs, but he's not that fast

I mean...it's Western Kentucky. I think we should wait to see him against legit competition before we claim he's turned a corner.

Personally, I've never been concerned about Milroe's ability to read defenses and throw bombs. Short range throws are the problem I recall him having. I really want to see him connect on more of those under pressure. WKU wasn't really able to cause pressure so it's hard to gauge Milroe's improvement there.

Yeah. I think that the whole "jalen doesn't go through his progressions" angle is a bit overstated. He seems to go through his progressions fine, its just the letting go of the ball and choosing which person to throw to. I feel like after the Texas game last year Saban probably drilled it into his head to not throw INTs which made him timid. On one hand he really didn't throw many INTs after that game, but on the other he held onto the ball for too long.

Yeah this is another part where I really want to see improvement. He often got himself in trouble last year by holding the ball too long, and then didn't throw it to the right person or tried to make something happen with his feet even though it wasn't there. I'm just not sure the WKUs of the world are good enough competition for us to be able to gauge this piece.

Simpson is way faster than Young.

Nope. That is why I hate these games. We'll find out soon enough though,

Who the hell wants to keep having this conversation? Why do people choose to want to be miserable?

I strongly suspect there's a small group of folks who collaborate off-board to come up with divisive topics. I can't decide if they're trolling or trying to help the board by increasing traffic.

The illuminati is real. Jay-z and Elon manipulating the Bama Board from undisclosed private islands would be hilarious .

I was a Jalen Hurts critic. My criticism was valid at the time. However, I was wrong because I thought he would never improve. You shouldn't count people out who have the talent, drive, intelligence, and will to succeed. Hurts had those qualities and I believe Milroe does also. I try to watch every Eagles game I can and I laugh at myself for believing he would never make it in the NFL.

Milroe was inconsistent last year and it showed up in tight games. Even the miracles he pulled out should not have been necessary if he was consistent. His inconsistency, especially in the second half, cost us the Michigan game last year. Their good defense may have had something to do with that. Regardless he could not execute at times. He did look good against Western Kentucky. Hope this continues into the Georgia game and beyond. We will see. I think the coaches are sold on him and he does have better coaching this year.

Yes, competition has to be considered but I remember the MTSU game last year and I could tell we were in trouble watching it in the stadium in a glorified All-22 view in the upper decks. He was clearly not following what ought to been a natural progression on several passes and he was getting some completions on outs and hook routes that I suspected (correctly) would be interceptions next week against Texas. He simply had the arm strength to beat the MTSU defenders to the spot.

What do you think would cause the new coaching staff to be sold on him?
