I’ll go first.

I’m sorry, Jalen. You’re much improved and I’m happy we have you.

Tommy, you’re growing on me. I’m sorry I said you couldn’t call your way out of a phone booth.

I haven’t bashed Rees or Milroe online, but I had my doubts about Milroe before the season. He proved me wrong and continues to prove many “Bama fans” on this board wrong every week.

I’m one of them! I never thought we’d be getting the production out of him that we’re experiencing right now. Something clicked for him. To go from struggling with a simple cover 2 read to reading a defenders hips, looking off a safety, and dropping some absolute dimes, it’s honestly amazing how much better he is now. Tommy being able to implement some plays for Jalen’s strengths has helped as well. I wasn’t too keen on his passing concepts, but I’ve been more and more impressed with them each week. The way he’s utilizing Niblack in the passing game is great. Jermaine Burton finally proving his worth is somewhat of a “something clicked” as well. Saban has coached his arse off.

Criticisms were warranted for both

But they are both much improved .. and how about those receivers .. how many balls did they drop against Texas and the early season

Receivers doing fantastic now

Anytime I see a Hurts or Burrow or Blake Sims story I always get giddy about a player like Milroe because the only thing it takes is a player like them taking an off-season and applying themselves with extra help and consultation. He’s got everything at his disposal.

I’m 75% there, but still need to see the UGA game. If he plays good enough to win (whether we win or not), then I’ll eat my full portion of crow. If he gives the game away throwing two picks like the across the body throw back over the middle he just did against KY, then we’re back to the QB giving the game away against teams that can match our talent (i.e. Texas game all over again).

I feel like I was critical but fair to each of them. So I don't know if I owe them an apology but I'm glad that they found something that moves the football into the end zone.

This is where I am too, but I would add that he has completed flipped a switch in his brain and become a Holy terror to opposing defenses. If he continues to improve, we will beat Georgia for the SEC crown.

The cross body throw judgment is volatile. Everyone says not to do it, but the moment a QB successfully does it, they’re viewed as a freakish talent. I’ve never understood that. Had Milroe completed that yesterday, the commentators would’ve been like, “Milroe continuing to show teams just how versatile he is with the cross body completion. Little hint of Mahomes there, wasn’t it Jordan?”. But the moment it’s intercepted or incomplete, you get the response we did yesterday.

How about stop jumping to ridiculous conclusions after a handful of games?

Look I know we all say things we regret but too many ppl want to crucify a player then when it works out a simple “I’m sorry guys” is supposed to absolve you. Nah man.

You’ll be right back to ripping Milroe and claiming you were right if he has another bad game.

I 100% agree.
I sincerely believe that every person on the board who did this, be required to post nude (preferably sexually explicit) pictures of wives and/or girl friends....you'll feel better about yourselves after you do.

“Ripping,” “Crucify,” “ridiculous conclusions”…let’s not jump to ridiculous conclusions by grouping everyone that was concerned about Milroe’s ability to play QB into the category of ShaftWilliams who got banned.

Most of the concerned posters still wanted to see Milroe succeed and were hoping to be wrong about their worries, including me (you can check the post history).

Let’s not kid ourselves that there wasn’t serious concerns about his ability to process information and make the right reads/throws, even by national analysts that were successful QBs. He’s played 9 quarters of good football (2 against UT, 4 vs LSU, 3 vs KY). UT is probably the best of those 3, but they just got smoked by Mizzou and he struggled mightily in the first 2Qs against them. Maybe we should not overreact to performances against KY and a dreadful LSU?

If he lights up the Barn in JH and UGA in Atl, then he deserves all the praise one can muster!!

I was critical of Jalen, Tommy and Nick. I was wrong. No matter how the season turns out, it has been fun to watch this team gel and win.

It’s not ridiculous conclusions when they’re accurate. After Texas A&M last year and mainly the Texas game this year, there was plenty of reason to be concerned. What was most problematic was the inability to recognize coverages that a middle school quarterback could identify. I probably watch games a little different than most, or certainly different than a few, and it was definitely troubling in the beginning. Anyone who has coached/played, specifically offensively, could recognize dubious issues. Some of those tendencies have lingered, but not to the extent of being as concerned anymore; it’s typical mistakes that any quarterback will make. Something clicked and clicked pretty quick. I would love to know how Tommy broke it all down for Jalen to help him understand. Whatever it was was an elite level of coaching to have this kind of turnaround in a matter of weeks. I’m proud of both. The progress is there, but if he takes a step back, it’s not the end of the world. Progression is all that matters and he’s had that, so I’m happy as a fan. Roll Tide!

I’m glad Milroe is becoming what we’d hope he would. He comes off as a fantastic person.

Oline is what I bashed early on but they seem to have found the magic. The terrible snaps were the worst of it but I didn’t notice it the last few games.

That’s a good point. I haven’t noticed any bad snaps the last couple games.

I have been critical as hell of Milroe, the beginning of the season he was looking completely lost at the beginning of every game, and 17 points against USF?

He started improving, but for every 4 good plays he made, he mad 3 bad. If he could tip that scale to 5:1 then we get what we got Saturday. I’m impressed at his improvement. Hopefully he continues to play smart. I hope he can do it against better defenses. Someone mentioned the O line improving, they had to.

We literally changed our playbook to match out QBs skillet.

Our issue was the fact Tommy Rees offense was too damn vanilla and too much like Bill O'Brien.

When Saban finally killed and scrapped that and we started running more creative plays and using our QBs ability to break the pocket instead of forcing him to stay in it and make long progression throws... like magic (nope, just logic) things started working.

Also reps reps reps.

Anyone who actually played the sport and understands it knows the importance
