Are we talking about the same DeBoer who lost to Vanderbilt, last year, and let a player literally run him off the field while throwing a tantrum?

We may have had this discussion before, your handle seems familiar, but if you are talking about a current resident of Oxford, Mississippi, there will be a glacier in hell before he gets within a million miles of our head coaching job and there’s nothing any fans pleading for it on message boards can do to change that. The bridge is not just burned, it’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki bomb obliterated.

OK, let me rephrase this: DeBoer is not intense and doesn’t demand excellence in the actual preparation for and running of games?

If he loses to Auburn in two weeks it'll be the most miserable offseason he's ever exerpienced. His seat will be white coal hot.

Biggest game he ever coached? WTF?

He was in the NC game in Jan 2024.

Some of you are going to have to readjust to your expectations moving forward.

You apparently are completely lost on how the Alabama fanbase is. Hell, even coach Saban said (after we lost in week 1 that "the Alabama fanbase doesn't have much patience". We're one of the most impatient fanbases on the planet. If he loses to Auburn his seat will be hot as hell for the entire offseason. You may not agee with it, but that is reality.

Fans can talk about it all they want doesn’t make it true.

Who is paying the buyout and then who are you going to hire when 9 wins each in your first two season isn’t good enough.

I think an important distinction I am making is a lost to Auburn is sending DeBoer down the path to termination not an immediate one, not without a bypass back onto the primrose path, but a bad path that will be hard to get out of once you’re on it. The vibe around a program is important and the fan buy-in and chatter is part of it. With money being a bigger factor, it’s not quite as big but it could make a difference when all other things are equal.

DeBoer is probably coaching here in 2027 regardless of how this season ends unless something disastrous happens or he decides to bail like Bill Curry. That’s the reality of it. Furthermore, he was given a two year schedule setup built to challenge Nick Saban and the man ain’t him. The 2026 schedule looks far more manageable and if he can’t make a 12-team with that schedule then he would rightfully be on short leash in 2027.

Ty needs to calm down and stop pressing. He acts like he is playing behind an all American offensive line. He isn't. The defense has gotten better but the offense has regressed. Will someone tell Grubb to concentrate on getting firsts downs and stop worrying about hitting a 50 yd passplay. Bama must beat the Barn and A&M to make the playoffs.

Not so sure about 2026 being more manageable. Still have to play UGA, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vandy, LSU, Auburn, South Florida, South Carolina.

Yeah, we’ve all heard the rumor, ad nauseam. What we haven’t heard is any details- who, which booster, when, even what year. What that tells me is that there are a bunch of people merely repeating a rumor they heard elsewhere and then thinking it’s legitimate simply because other people are repeating the same rumor.

I’m not saying it might not be true. It could be. But, it’s probably not by a large margin. And even if there is any element of truth to it, what actually happened and what has been rumored to have happened almost assuredly differ significantly. That’s the nature of rumors.

I’m sure I’ll be downvoted to hell which will only serve to prove my point because I’ll guarantee you not one of those downvoters responds with any detail… because none exists. They merely heard a rumor.

And even if it were true, frick that booster and his slut wife. I want the best coach available if something happens with DeBoer. So, said booster should get out of his feels and move on with life. Bitterness isn’t good for anybody. And he should focus on working on his marriage and fixing why his wife allegedly had to look elsewhere instead of cock-blocking the success of the program (ironic that he allegedly didn’t have any success cock-blocking anything else).

Now, I don’t know who the best available may be when or if something happens with DeBoer. BUT, I do know who the best available was when Saban retired and who is the best available, right now. And, that’s why he has teams fighting to get him or keep him and he’s probably about to become the highest paid coach in college football. It was absolutely stupid to not even consider him and try to hire Mike fricking Norvell and 2 PAC12 coaches.

I’ll give you an upvote because I am a nice guy.

There’s no question of Kiffin’s coaching ability, the problem is he has the emotional maturity of a teenage girl.

LSU and Auburn will be in a year 1 situation...hard to know what they'll be.

USF probably a new regime due to Golesch getting poached.

Vanderbilt is going to regress without Pavia imo.

I'm thinking that Sellers is very likely to transfer at this juncture and either rate we get them at home so that leans our way.

There is no such thing as an easy schedule in the modern SEC but the fact that FSU, UGA, TAMU, Tenn, LSU, and Auburn are really the meat of the season and only 2 of those are on the road is huge.

I’d say that was a fair assessment 12 years ago. No doubt, Kiffin has brought some things on himself. I think he’s grown and matured a great deal. Sure, he still mildly trolls social media, but that’s also part his charm.

I didn’t downvote your last reply, by the way.

Only 1 bye week in 2026 so I'm betting it won't be as bad as this year.

There’s someone who I must have PO’d who follows me around and downvotes everything I post on any of the boards here, he’d downvote me if I said Saban led us to six national titles. Like I care LOL.

I think even the DuBose teams would be 9-1 at worst with Ohio State's schedule.

Im just telling you the reality. Fan pressure is a real thing and Bama fans can apply some of the hottest. Boosters are fans to and 9-3 regular seasons as the norm wont last long for their patience.
