"I talked to a college coach this week who has a bye week next week, and all he's doing is meeting with agents. It's the middle of the season! Guys are worried about how much playing time am I getting, what I'm going to do if I don't get enough playing time. I'm playing well, so how much money am I going to make next year there or someplace else?"

"The reason we're seeing a lot of these inconsistencies in performance is people are struggling to sustain their intensity week in and week out. Maybe it's people are more conditionally committed to their team because the circumstances we're putting these players in. ... If you can't sustain intensity, you can't sustain the level of performance you want to sustain, you can't play smart, you can't play with intelligence. It all starts with your mental energy, and that starts with your commitment to your team and to your development as a player."

Thoughts?

My thought: There is not enough cash in every treasury of every country in the United Nations to get me to be a college football coach or coordinator right now, but hey, all we have to do is bring in some nutso hard arse like Jeremy Pruitt and all will be right with the world.

I saw the freshman WR from Oregon St who leads the nation in receiving yards is livestreaming a "Decision Day" this weekend on their bye week.

At this point, it feels like I'm punishing myself by still being a fan of the sport. College football has officially jumped the shark. Honestly, I think football in general right now is being held together by gambling sites. The whole thing would crater if millions of young men couldn't gamble on it.

While college football certainly has a lot of issues, the problem we are mostly having in the world today is a 'me' issue. College football used to be about teamwork, discipline, sacrifice, etc. Now everything is all about whats in it for me, right here, right now. And the fruit of that is seen all throughout society.

It would make me concerned about our roster but I agree it’s probably Kiffin.

At least he re-committed to Oregon State.

Unfortunately, If he would have held a news conference saying he is signing with another school next year. It wouldn't have surprised me now-a-days.

My thought:

My thought is that any fan is a damn fool to contribute even $1 to an NIL collective. Players will gladly take your money and then go play for Auburn, Tennessee, or LSU next year.

The time you spent typing your opinion on NiL should be worth more than a dollar.

And you spent it shitting on fans trying to help their team instead of doing something meaningful. You’ll spend 8 hours of your Saturday watching football and probably another 10 this week thinking/talking about it. And that’s if you don’t go to the games.

“You’re a damn fool if you spend even $1 on tickets, concessions, or cable to watch the games. The AD, coach, and trainer will gladly take your money and go to another school next year”

See how that sounds?

There's a lot of player issued gear that would be nice to have. Especially, Bama basketball.

I think it’s absolutely true. Guys don’t buy in like they used to. They aren’t loyal to their team like they once were. It simply doesn’t matter as much to a lot of guys, so they have games where they aren’t focused or they aren’t giving 100% effort.

That’s the one thing I think they’ve really missed on so far I think. And maybe there’s rules behind it. But I personally think they’ve should be auctioning off game used items and autographed items.

Yea Alabama could probably make a killing selling autographed cards or Oats signed basketballs.

It’s true to some degree but not in all cases. Amari Allen came back for less than he could’ve gotten. Philon too last year.

Keelon and Mack both could’ve taken guaranteed starting jobs making as much or more. There are lots of players who do still care. Some don’t but there are enough stories out there of players who do care if you look for them.

You know it's coming now that this guy did it first. Every off-season will be announcement ceremonies with 5 different hats on the table.
