Gmac was talking about this today and said that a lot of the trouble is that Ty is making the wrong read as to who the "hot" is based on the coverage. If a safety is pulled down to cover the top of the receiver where the blitzer has vacated, you don't throw it there... look for the other side. He is very complimentary of Ty, but he did hang some of this on him

And we often still call plays where every route is 15+ yards downfield against those extra rushers. If you know that the OL struggles to pick up blitzes and call a bunch of plays that require great blitz pick ups, that's more of a playcalling issue to me. I just don't think they've been terrible. Not great, but there have probably been a dozen sacks this season that can be directly blamed on the playcalls or Ty. South Carolina has a bad passblocking OL. They were giving up pressure against 3 man rushes all season. You at least typically have to blitz to make us look like shite.

I agree with you on this one. Our pass concepts would make a good pass protection unit look a bit worse too. People criticize Ty for holding the ball but aren't considering that the reason he's doing it is because the play call dictates it.

I could be wrong, but this Indiana team is giving me 2012 ND vibes.

I don't agree. They are much more talented than that squad. I can also assert this Bama squad is nowhere in the ballpark of the 2012 Bama squad.

What? GMAC is a troll and a hater. Ty is perfect and never makes mistakes.
Ty was rattled so much early in the game Friday until his anti-anxiety meds kicked in. He missed some key throws. On the one sack, he failed to set his protection correctly presnap which resulted in him getting nailed for a sack.
Another time, he stood staring at Germie holding the ball and got sacked. If he moves his eyes he has Cuevas wide open directly in front of him for an easy throw and TD.
On the throw that Williams dropped, he had Germie wide open for a TD on the other side of the field. Some of his throws, that were "drops" were not great and required the receiver to make a good or great catch.
I will give Ty credit, he made some good throws in the game and if he wouldn't have settled down, Bama would have lost.

Slap some gravy on that, and it sounds pretty good. Though I've had one, and the problem is the stereotypes are true. White people up there can't season food worth a shite. And I say that as a white dude. Those stereotypes about mayo being considered spicy have a lot of truth. Between Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan, they really can't cook worth a damn.

All I have heard today and yesterday is how Indiana is unbeatable. They are the best team this year. QB is a brainiac in the mold of John Elway and never makes mistakes. They are the best coached team with the best coach. The most disciplined. Their defense is impenetrable and their OL and running game is better than ours.
They are better in every metric than us.
They may beat us by 10-30 points.
These are quotes from talking heads on different TV portals . Only Finebaum and some guy on TNT picked us.
CBS guys were actually making fun of us.
I have not seen Indiana play so have no opinion of my own. Chizik was rapturous in his praise.
Then I heard Cignetti speaking ; wow what a pompous arrogant prick.
What do you guys think?

We can beat them but we will need to play a complete game for 60 minutes. Something we really haven’t done too often this season.

The over-the-top praise is pretty wild. All the talking heads giving Bama basically no shot are pretty much professionally trolling.

On top of everything, Alabama will be healthier than they've been since the start of the season. Even getting marginally more healthy vs OU was still a huge jump from the SEC championship, and we saw what happened.

Was never a fan of the "LANK" stuff, but it seems more appropriate now: let all these motherfricking naysayers know

They have a very efficient offense, but we have the defense that can throw them off of their game. If they start having to go faster and take more risks, then we could very well make it ugly for them.

Our offense can obviously move the ball on just about anyone when we are healthy and playing mistake free, assignment football.

I think having to play the defenses of Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia, and Oklahoma again in the last month is pretty important going into this game against Indiana. They are battle tested.

LSU had a very good defense this year as well. People forget about them because of their issues on offense and Kelly getting fired as a result. But their defense had some serious talent.

that's true. Outside of the A&M game they were pretty great all year.

Think about the schedule that we played this year. Georgia twice (both games on the road), Oklahoma twice (one on the road in an elimination game situation), LSU, Vanderbilt, at Missouri, Tennessee, at South Carolina, Auburn on the road in prime time with our playoff hopes hanging in the balance, at Florida State. Our team has been through a meat grinder.

Mine too, but in fairness that’s always my take. I would pick Alabama to be the 85 Bears.

Legitimately, Vanderbilt was probably the worst defense we faced in conference play. We somehow caught almost every unit with an elite edge rusher. South Carolina or Tennessee were probably the 2nd worst unit but both have some dudes on the DL.

Surprised the Indy fans think they are unbeatable. Ohio State was the better team, but Mendoza made three or four huge plays. Ohio State still should have won. If they play Ohio State again it is curtains. As for our chances, we have a chance. The lay off is in our favorite. If we make the finals I hope Ole Miss is the opponent.

They haven’t lost this season. A zero in the L column got a way with fans.
