The Sugar Bowl, I’d rather be in the Rose Bowl.

It’s not that we are playing Clemson, our last few Sugar Bowls just have not gone well. The game may have bad juju for us.

First... Weak Post, Bro

Second... but the sugar bowl is where we got in last time without a conference title to destroy the L7U program and win a title.

I think the sugar is a very fitting setting for this game.

That wasn't the Sugar Bowl. It was the Allstate BCS National Championship Game, played in New Orleans.

The travel advantage is true, though.

I also started this thread with the misleading title to see if I could catch anybody.

First New Orleans then Atlanta if they win. Should be at least 60-40 Bama fans maybe 70-30.

Only a few hours drive from Baldwin county. Won't even need a hotel room.

Clemson has outnumbered us back to back. Will they finally be more even since Clemson is in every year now?

Clemson fans travel well, or at least they did last year. Tickets were impossible to come by outside the stadium last year for anything less than $1200. They outnumbered us everywhere, from inside the stadium to at the tailgates.

Clemson had the crowd advantage in Phoenix as well.

Clemson fans are going to start feeling that $$ crunch like we have. This is 3 years in a row for them. I imagine the Sugar Bowl will be pretty even.

If we were to play Georgia in Atlanta I think Georgia fans will spend their life savings on tickets and it would be very pro Georgia. Would probably have the advantage over Oklahoma.

There's not a single player on our entire roster that played in the Utah and Oklahoma losses and barely any that played in the Ohio State one, if any.

Every single one of those games were their own independent sad story that have nothing to do with each other or the future.

Those losses hurt us in this game no more than our win over Miami at the end of 92 or LSU in 11 helps us.

Juju exists only in the mind of the superstition. The arena had nothing to do with how we played.

I wouldn’t underestimate how much our older fans love seeing us play in the Sugar Bowl on New Years. We haven’t really been outnumbered in the south in any games either. With Tampa being the outlier and not really a southern bowl location

Sugar Bowl has a history of upsets. Oddly enough, it's not just the upsets, it's when the opposing team is perceived a big underdog.

Look at some of the history:

Pittsburgh beat #2 Georgia 1982 in, who just won the national title the previous year.

'92- Notre Dame beat #3 Florida, and a few weeks later, Alabama beats #1 Miami 34-13 for the title.

'94- #8 Florida crushes #3 West Virginia 41-7.

One year later in '95, #7 Florida State beats #5 Florida.

2006, West Virginia upsets #8 Georgia.

2009- Utah upsets Alabama

2011- even though Alabama was favored, the national perception was that an undefeated LSU team would beat Alabama in a rematch.

2013- Louisville upset a one-loss Florida tea,.

2014- Oklahoma upsets Alabama

2015- Ohio State upsets Alabama.

So there's been quite a few upsets in the Superdome. Crazy voodoo shite happens in N.O on prime time.
