Saban seems to like getting the ball first in the second half. Gives us the opportunity for a double score

Yes take the ball. We need to see what we have to work with.

Both programs like to feel each other out for a couple of drives.

Definitely, defer.

If you don't score on the first drive, you've wasted the opportunity.

Today I'd defer.

But there are some games I'd want to force the other team to play from behind on their first offensive snap.

Defer! Better to have your defense jacked up on nervous energy than your QB or receivers. Crowd hyped up early helps defense, not offense.

If it was LSU with no defense and great offense, then you probably receive first. Other than that, defer.

I was going to say run surprise onside on 1st play, but I think you wait to see if our defense can hold. If we can’t stop them and are losing time of possession, no reason to not onside it with a shot to get the ball. At worst, you limit the plays your defense is on the field and gives them a better chance to at least hold for FGs. The Onside against Clemson in our NC win was brilliant given the flow of the game.

No. We’ve been more of a second half team, but so has Georgia

Do like the Texas feller did a few years ago and elect to kick! And again after the ref tries to correct him.
