If DJ Durkin's fired I got to think Coach Locksley will be called.

Probably just promote from within for now. Way too late in the game to try to bring in a new staff with the season 2 weeks away

I meant after the season. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Canada will get a chance to remove the interim tag.

But, then again I don't know Coach Locksley would get a call for the head coaching job because he really wasn't good at New Mexico and had off the field issues. But, you never know. He's so tied in with high school football in that area he would be hard to ignore.

I highly doubt it. He had an awful tenure as a HC at NM and it went beyond failure on the field. Highly dysfunctional off the field as well. And he was once an interim at Maryland and didn’t do very well.

He didn't have much success at Maryland.

Durkin recruited well, and UMd has that B1G TV money. I'd think they could get a pretty good coach to come there- better than Locksley. The B1G East is a tough division though.

Nah.

Schiano seems like a good fit at MD tho.

I might be completely wrong but I’ve wanted Dan Enos as in OC for years now. I think the only thing that can hold this offense back is Locksley not panning out. He doesn’t have a great track record as OC either.

Locksley is not coming back to Maryland. He has an opportunity to land at a Power 5 schools after next year.

I disagree. As the Illinois OC, the Illini led the Big 10 in rushing in back-to-back years and were top 10 nationally in rushing offense both years as well. The following year, they led the Big 10 in passing after personnel turnover and ranked 19th nationally in total offense. As Maryland OC in 2013, the Terps surpassed 5,000 total offensive yards in a season for just the fourth time in school history...

Especially considering the schools he was at and the talent at his disposal, I'd say that's pretty good...looking forward to what he can do with the talent at Bama...

no one hires an active assistant coach before the season starts. They promote and interim from within for a year. I doubt Locksley gets a sniff as a HC this soon after making an OC at Bama. Unless our O is unstoppable and our OC is the reason for it. Our OC inherited a talented group of players

If anything, the OC at FSU might be the candidate. Maryland fans were upset when he left.

Edit: Walt Bell is the name, very impressive dude.
