I think Dee Hart is too small for the SEC

Is Dee too small to play RB in the SEC. He's 'listed' at 5-9 and 187. And I honestly can't recall a single Yard After Contact for him in the last 2 years.

He's averaging just 3 yards/carry this year.

What role is this guy going to play for us?

Did we get his commitment when we were light on RBs and before the commitments broke loose for yeldon, drake that year and Henry, kamara, tenpenny last year?

He's not too small to be a HUGE stud on special teams

He is a class older than Yeldon and drake.

He was a different player before the knee injuries

He's one of the best tacklers on STs, "despite" being 5-9 187. He's been through 2 knee surgeries in the last 2 years, on plays that had zero contact. He could have called it quits and transferred by now, instead he's busting his butt on kickoffs.

He's very loosely a RB, how he's treated depth wise shows it. He'll get a few carries, but is not really on the the real 3 deep. He's a favorite of Saban, and he should be. He's worked hard, it just hasn't panned out for him.

He was taken in a class that had just 1 other "RB" in Brent Calloway. He was good friends with HCD and was a 5* player in his own right before 2 knee injuries took away a lot.

Dude tore both knees up. He is one of the hardest workers on the team. He is probably never going to get many carries in meaningful time but he is a beast on ST. He was a 5 star coming out of high school IIRC.

I was really pulling for Dee to get a TD in each of the last 2 games. At first I thought that was why CNS put him in when we got into the red zone late against UT but I guess he was just spelling Drake.

I think he wants him to get it, but not be overbearing about it. Get it in the flow of the game, but not go out of his way to just get Dee a TD.

Makes it that much sweeter when he does finally get it. Having earned it himself, and I'm sure Hart will have it no other way...

Wasn't Dee about to overtake Lacy to be Trent's backup in 2011, but then he got hurt?

That was the rumor, he was heating up.

He was poised for more touches in '12 as the main PR, but bad luck got him again.

He was a really good, explosive player before he hurt his knees.

THIS. Dee might not have it in him anymore to be a starting RB in the SEC, but he is a 5'9" missile on special teams.

22 needs to be a KR or a PR but outside of that he needs to stay off ST

Don't wanna see him get hurt either, but he's at least been doing good in kick coverage.

Saban keeps him on the team so there will be one player he can look down on.

He was. Hart was the top all-purpose back out of high school in 2010. Saban tried to get him in on the return game last year, but then he tore his knee up against Ole Miss. Now, CJ has that role locked down. Hart is doing just fine in his role as a ST player. Guy is a worker.
