How about Alabama was just a damn good team that played within a BCS system and has won 3 National Championships? Yeah, Alabama was fortunate and caught some breaks, but we dominated in those BCSCG's.

So we can keep acting like this didn't happen but to win Championships you've got to get lucky once or twice. That element is real, and therefore Championships are typically fragile and not "let's award the glass football to the pre-season #1 team".

Tide Football going for 1st National Title since 1992

Here's why we could very well be on a 22 year dry spell and there would be no Saban statute
Why we shouldn't have won in 2012:
Reason 1 - Snuck into Championship with 1 loss due to Oregon's controversial loss to Stanford (Insane booth overturning of the Hogan to Ertz out of bounds TD at the end of regulation)
Reason 2 - SEC Championship Game last drive vs. Georgia
2a - Murray/Richt didn't clock the ball on the next to last play costing them 2 extra plays.
2b - CJ's perfectly timed jump on the last play:cheers:
2c - perfect tip right to an inbound WR to burn the clock vs. having another play:nana:
Reason 3 - Our against all odds LSU come from behind (AJ's magic drive + Yeldon screen) :nana:
Why we shouldn't have won in 2011:
We owe it all to Jay Jacobs hiring Chiz out of Ames Iowa. One loss Alabama is outside looking in with no way to jump LSU and Okla St. until Paul Rhodes (Iowa St.) works his magic on a late season night game in Ames Iowa. OSU shockingly loses in double OT. Alabama rests and watches the SEC championship game.
:nana:
Why we shouldn't have won in 2009:
Reason 1 - Two Cody Blocked FGs vs. UT ('nuf said, we shouldn't have won in 2009)
Reason 2 - Dareus takes out Colt McCoy (Shipley was unstoppable in that game, even w the freshman)
My point is that we get really spoiled and hung up on 4 of 5 when we are lucky to have won ONE.

I don't think he leaves early. I think he stays for desert, then craps in the guest bathroom before leaving.

I challenge anyone to name a highly acclaimed assistant of a coaching guru (Saban, Walsh, bellichek, etc.) that hasn't failed in their first and sometimes 2nd head coaching job before breaking thru. Remember bellicheks years in Cleveland...Saban's early years at MSU...
It sounds really good - Kirby seamlessly taking over and keeping it rolling. But it never happens that way.
Enjoy this ride...it might be the last.

Or was that Bonner's idea.

Landon Collins mama rant
She's gotta act all anti-Bama so her fellow bayou buddies don't fire bomb her house.

The first thing that shot to my mind was trouble with Bill Battle. Then I slapped myself.

My favorite spring game Saban quote...
*yelling*
"Kirby, why isn't Landon on the field!!!?"
:spank:
... I've been asking that for the first 5 games.

From 97.7 The Drive tonight w/ Wes Neighbors & Steve Moulton:
Any idea what he's talking about? Sounded like he was referring to non-players but I'm not sure.

He'll have more of a shot after the LSU game
I think Dee Hart is too small for the SEC
Posted by lloyd87 on 10/27/13 at 6:23 pm
Is Dee too small to play RB in the SEC. He's 'listed' at 5-9 and 187. And I honestly can't recall a single Yard After Contact for him in the last 2 years.
He's averaging just 3 yards/carry this year.
What role is this guy going to play for us?
Did we get his commitment when we were light on RBs and before the commitments broke loose for yeldon, drake that year and Henry, kamara, tenpenny last year?
