Actually, I don't think I was incorrect in the receiving and TE core missing a guy who can deliver and distribute better in the passing game. I think a look at the stats bear that out. Understanding that we have a game or hopefully two to go, the stats are apples-to-apples, but figure over two games Hurts will dish out 20-25 more completions, the numbers, still won't be good.

Coker dished the ball out more and distributed the ball better, don't tell me the guys playing those positions don't want to be more involved in the game.

Jake Coker 2015 - 263/393 66.9%

Jalen Hurts 2017 - 136/224 60.7%

2015 Receiving leaders (Top 5)
--
Ridley - 89 / 1045 yards
Stewart - 63/ 700 yards
Howard - 38 / 602 yards
Mullaney - 38/ 390
Drake - 29 / 276

2017 Receiving leader (Top 5)
--
Ridley - 55 / 896
Sims - 14 / 259
Scarbrough - 14 / 92
Jeudy - 13 / 244
Smith Jr - 13 / 122

(The 2-5 receivers this year didn't get the ball as much as the Stewart, our #2 receiver did in 2015)

Exactly. We have elite talent at receiver and can't get them the damn ball. Nick Saban should have brought Tua along more quickly this year instead of staying with an incompetent Hurts back there running for his life instead of throwing the ball to open receivers.

Tua actually played a good bit other than the close games. So, we really didn't see him much against the better teams or in pressure situations.

And Jalen was the one who scored the go-ahead TD.

And Jalen also played in part in the offense failing to convert 3rd downs TWELVE STRAIGHT TIMES IN A ROW. The offense deserves way more blame than the defense. If they had played better than they wouldn’t have even needed to score a TD at the end.

Was it for real 12 straight times? Geeze. I knew it was bad but even I didn't realize it was that bad.

Wait actually they failed to covert 12 straight 3rd downs

Let me also add that the defense forced and recovered a fumble twice inside Clemson territory yet the offense came away with no points on one drive and only 3 points (couldn’t get a first down) on the other.
