May have to start Derrion Reid tomorrow and let him guard Harper. He gave cryer fits every possession he guarded him.

If we beat Rutgers tomorrow, who would y’all rather see us play on Saturday: Oregon or SDSU?

Reid as a perimeter defender will be nasty. He is gonna get some huge fast break jams playing in that role.
I said earlier, he is like freshman Gerald Wallace. Not polished on offense, but super athletic and big. His size and strength will allow him to bully smaller guys.
Reid and Mo together on the floor could be a nightmare for opposing offenses. Nate will want to have some other shooters out there with them. Both guys are capable of hitting a 3 but the other team will probably be happy with those attempts.
We have a lot of flexibility in our lineups bc of our depth. But we have some guys who give us a lot of flexibility with matchups too. Reid, Mo, and Grant can play multiple positions. Youngblood should be another when he comes back.

Oregon

The only team Rutgers has lost to is Antoine Pettway’s Kennesaw State squad.

Oregon. Don’t want another physical game with SDSU.

I hate to say it, but SDSU. We need all the practice we can get with physical teams before we play Tennessee and Auburn. Tennessee has had our number lately and that is one game I hope we have circled this season. I hate watching these type games because there is no flow to them

Does anyone know much about Dylan Harper or Ace Bailey for Rutgers? I know that Harper is the Big 10 preseason freshman of the year, and that Bailey is a preseason lottery pick (according to CBS)

Harper is the real deal. He looks like basically their only offense.

Both are absolute handfuls. It's amazing they lost to Kennesaw State. Way to go Coach Pettway

It's really cool to have a basketball coach who I actually trust in crunch time.

Yet we still have dumbass posters who think Oats doesnt know how to draw up a play.

There was somebody in here last night who just kept spamming "This is going to be a bad loss." Like what? A neutral site loss to a top 10 team is a bad loss?

Anybody watching the game last night that actually knows basketball could tell you two things:
1. Its not a bad loss for either team. November basketball might as well be spring training.
2. The refs were the real story in that game. They were terrible all night, for all sorts of different reasons.
But we get some hot takes in the game thread that you wouldnt believe.

It's not even a subjective question. The committee has said they don't actually consider Q1 losses when evaluating teams.

We lost 3 consecutive Q1 games last December (all of which we led in the 2nd half) and people were saying we weren’t a tournament team
