Pot is legal in about 30 states.. too bad we live in a backwards arse place in Alabama.

This is still a misdemeanor amount considered personal use.
It would be interesting to see the probable cause for the search warrant and which judge signed it.
Meanwhile we have a governor candidate who owned/operated a delta 9 and hemp shop up until a couple of months ago.
Eta: reports that it’s a felony charge. Based off what I could find online the amount at home could’ve been a misdemeanor. We’ll wait for the whole story to play out.

This is not really true. If you are a regular smoker(a lot of young athletes are) then a pound for personal use isn’t uncommon.
Especially if you’re an athlete and you want to limit risk/transactions so you buy in bulk. Why go to your weed man again and again every couple of weeks when you could just give him $1,300 and have enough to last you the foreseeable future.
Dealers would have way more than a pound, there would be dealer paraphernalia and the bond would be way higher
