Go back and look at the pics. She was in a Rav4. The damage to her rear is fairly minimal but the driver’s side rear wheel is pushed way forward. He underran her. That low, sloped Corvette was like a wedge to the SUV and kept the vette occupants from absorbing the full energy of the crash. That’s probably what caused her fuel lines and/or tank to rupture as well.

He may have not been drinking but under the influence of something else. This is from a local news report in LV.
Sounds like the DUI could be either and if not alcohol the breathalyzer no value.
Outside of the DUI with fatality that could see 2-20 without the option of probation the reckless driving could add another 6 years by itself.
BTW the girl in the car with him is the mother of his daughter.

They're also reporting that his BAC was a whopping .161.

I would say the same thing if it was just he DUI OR the speeding. Both show a disregard for human life.
