None of these things will ever happen. They are just press clipping PR stunts

If the council thought they were going to get good PR then they greatly mis judged. They’re getting hammered on socials right now. I’ve watched about half of the meeting where this was voted on and they listened to concerns and complaints from residents for like an hour and then voted yes on the project. I know my councilman won’t win re-election and he was mostly well-liked until a couple days ago.

This is zoned to be behind tractor supply on Hwy 82 and across from a large neighborhood. I mean FFS at least put it somewhere a little more secluded.

It’s just being squeezed in the middle of Northport.

$800k for a “beach house” with easy access to Tractor Supply is a steal

Some of y’all are combining Northport and Tuscaloosa. Each has its own mayor and city council. One city council has done a great job with their 1% sales tax increase. The other council may be on drugs

I live in Tuscaloosa County. I understand the municipal government jurisdictions. I’m saying that Northport residents are just gonna love all them college students.

Of course, my reckon is it will be the best pool in the Section 8 housing portfolio within a decade.

“Come enjoy the new University Beach Resort. Sip cocktails at the swim up bar or lounge in the sand and watch the beautiful sunset over…. Big Lots and Taco Casa.”

Seems like most of the Northport residents feverishly oppose this project.

Yes because every part of this is more dumb than the next. 800k houses in a area that may have a few 300k houses, a lagoon resort in the middle of town in a climate that has lows in the 30s 4 months of the year, a amphitheater a few miles from a bigger amphitheater, and on and on.
