You have to start with the type of person you're bringing into your program.

Parent and player with their hands out for money being the most important thing for them.

Problem is it is going to get worse.

Nah, this coach and his players are charmin soft mentally and physically. He was a terrible fit from the start and is a dead man walking at Alabama.

Literally the best players on the roster were his transfers from Washington.

What an absolute dogshit take.

We will be fine. DeBoer develops QBs.

Ty hit his ceiling before DeBoer arrived on campus.

I know I am in the minority, but I really think the 3rd season will be the most telling. As bad as this one ended, it was technically an improvement from last year. We actually won some games we would have lost in 2024. If next year proves to be a clear decline in team achievement from this year, I’ll be more restless and more inclined to part ways with DeBoer. The hardest pill to swallow is not having the Saban standard anymore, but we knew that was going to be the case regardless of who replaced him.

The one area I feel very strongly on is we NEED to get more defensive packages. We run this base 4-2 and it’s just… ugly. We didn’t stack the box yesterday when Indiana was just killing us over and over with the runs.

If Womack wants to be a serious coordinator, you cannot have a team just score 6/8 drives with ease because you can’t plug gaps.

It’s debatable that this season was a step forward considering we are right where we were this time last year after rolling to Michigan. We are searching for answers, asking for staff changes, and questioning our toughness.

I agree completely with this. I think that Deboer is the type of guy for that, and thats why these next two years are going to tell you everything you need to know for that. Saban had a ton of misses on kids the last few years and it's killing us.

There really aren't enough answers on defense even though at some point you really can't have an answer for everything. In those cases, you need to have some base defense you fall back to and know your 11 guys will execute.

I don't really know our defensive identity other than chase takeaways to a fault. For example, they seem to love standing up a ball carrier and hoping that a teammate can get the peanut punch out.

I knew when push comes to shove against teams that Saban was going to play cover 1 pattern match zone and challenge his men to win dominate their matchup. Sometimes it didn't work, but it was usually the "well nothing we're doing is working so lets go back to basics" choice.

This is the problem in my opinion. Yes he was 10-2 regular season with an sec cg and a playoff win but if you will honestly look at this season Bama was as close to 8-4 as they were to 10-2. This program will never be what you want it to be until we see a return to a disciplined hard nose team that plays physical football. If not we will get what you see now a streaky team that wins some games and some that they shouldn’t but we won’t see a consistent level of play you can build on like what we are seeing with an Indiana team that’s being led by a former Saban assistant that has as close to a Saban mentality as I’ve seen as that’s including Kirby Smart.

We have elite talent, blown out 2x, offense disappeared for multiple parts of most games. Next year is make or break, way to soft and often play with lack of passion, like yesterday. 1st game of the year, how do you come out with no passion or life?

We do not have elite talent currently. Not one RB for Alabama would take a snap at Indiana. Those two white LB's from Indiana looked like Tarzan compared to the senior LB's we trotted out there all game.

I disagree that we came out flat. Defense came out swinging and O stalled with negative plays. Then D holds them to a field goal and Ty decides to slide a yard short instead of diving for the 1st down like we all watched Gunner Stockton do at least 10 times against us and Ole Miss. I didnt like the 4th down play but Germie has also got a yard every single time we ran that play this year. The game was over when Ty fumbled when we were driving and we kinda folded after that. You can say this team folded for sure in the 2nd half, but they did come out swinging.

You can say that about a slew of Saban’s seasons…

2015 with Henry we needed a final drive to beat Tennessee, Arkansas gave us a fight, and even Miss State made it close. 2021/2022 with Bryce same schtick. Hurts in 2017 was a mess offensively.

Georgia of all teams has four fourth quarter comebacks this year and trailed in 8/9 SEC games

Name a DOG on this team, can we at least name 2 or 3? I don’t think so. Dre jr might be one and germie.

They cant handle this though.. they think firing CKD will fix it and it wont. I've seen some people on this board calling for Glen Schumann to be hired.... hell some of yall will want to hire Golding if he makes it to the Natty.

There isnt one, but there hasnt been one in years. Jamo may be the last one I can think of, but I really think it goes all the way back to Mac.

When I saw that throw, I might have said a bad word because there’s no way anyone with a brain could tell me that Ty Simpson is better than this kid. It had the same feel as when Tua came in for Hurts.

Mack hit that nice 34 yard pass and then hit a 16 yard pass to wide open Cuevas. Those two passes gave him 50 yards. Then he had 53 yards on his remaining nine completions with an average length of under 6 yards. Comparing that to Tua in 2017 is head spinning.

Come on man our offense is streaky. No efficiency at all and we have ZeRO identity. I’m not saying fire DeBoer. At all I’ve already laid out why that’s a bad idea in other threads nor do I think an AD should force staff turnover. It has to be DeBoers decision but if he can’t see what this team lacks then he is either to prideful to admit a failure of approach and pivot or he lacks complete self awareness. Either of which gets him fired at the end of next season. Again if we just look at record and don’t pay attention to the product on the field it’s going to slip away quicker than fans realize. He has to make changes somewhere and they need to be physical and attitude changes. It’s obvious.

Germ is the closest for sure.

Pierre doesn’t show up a ton in the run game. Brown has had two picks that were huge but he isn’t close to a dog. Go rewatch that Oklahoma game on the mateer scramble for a touchdown and see him avoid contact. Hubbard misses countless tackles. I think you’re confusing good players for dogs because Tony Brown, Jonathan Allen, and Mark Barron would slap the shite out of all three of those guys you mentioned for some of the shite they pull every week.
