He doesn’t look comfortable in the slot position at all.
Just my opinion, but we need to keep what’s possibly our top deep threat at receiver on the outside, not running short routes into the teeth of the defense. We have tougher receivers to do that it seems. He seemed to be anticipating getting hit and taking his eyes off the ball yesterday.

I wonder if he'll stay in the slot. It was clear he can't play there. He's not tough enough. Maybe it looked good in camp when he knew he couldn't get lit up but he doesn't have what it takes to go in the middle and get lit up.

Hope not, you’re right…he’s not built for it, especially mentally. They need to move him back outside, where he’s a real threat to defenses. Especially since most have to assign two players to cover him. If nothing else, he’ll open up lanes for other receivers you’d think.

How many tough catches do you remember him catching

The last great catch I remember him having was against Oklahoma. Circus catch on terrible placement from Milroe. It was negated by a phantom inelligible receiver call.

Yep, and that's on Grubb. I don't think Grubb is getting enough of the blame for the absolute shitshow on offense yesterday

Agree. Might want to start a new thread on this…curious what others think.

yes so that he could drop more balls there than at Bama

we need to bench him and play the guy who consistently catches

Definitely not as smooth looking as it was at UW or Sheridan for that matter . Got so pissed at the 3rd and 15 or 4th and 8 play action fake plays , not to mention the route trees left a little to be desired . Hopefully it gets worked but we will see

Yeah, would have liked to see more late releases from the tight ends and rb instead of the bunched up routes. Too much traffic.

After I watched him play yesterday I wish he would have went somewhere else.
