Mallette has not been good. Trellys got a bad finger(and now a bad leg), Holloway has a bad wrist, and Bethea may be our best shooter and he hasn’t played. We will be fine. No need to overreact

Mallette is a hard playing one trick pony. I respect him, but he is kind of an opposing coaches dream.

If he is not gonna make wide open 3s no point in having him out there except for late game FT opportunities. Just being honest

A little early for big proclamations like “Alabama has no path to winning a national title” don’t you think?

I don’t think so. Sherrell is who he is and is unlikely to be anything else. Williamson was clearly made for his former level of play not this level. He looks laughably overmatched and unathletic any time he’s on the court.

We have a massive roster hole at center that would require some sort of biblical revelation from God to be fixed by what is available on the roster.

The 3 best front courts in College Basketball are Purdue, Gonzaga, and Florida. Florida doesn’t have the Guard play to make us pay….Purdue and Gonzaga do. We will be fine

We do not. Once Bristow gets fully healthy he is going to play the bulk of the minutes at the 5. He is really good. Sherrell is solid too. Noah Williamson is the only one who is truly god awful

I am not even disputing they played good defense, I am talking about the open shots and FTs we missed. We hit most of those we win. Just one person scoring is not just other teams defense when you are as talented as us.
I thought this was Sherrells best game overall. Not great but his personal best especially going against such a talented front court.

Saying this team has a sweet 16 ceiling. This team is much better than the Final 4 team. This team is better than last years Elite 8 team IMO.

Most pundants use the terms like "Final Four level" or "Sweet 16 level", etc. but to me the better terminology for prognostication should be more of "a 1 seed capable" or "a 4 seed capable".
How far you go in the NCAA tournament can vary so wildly and depend on how well you play in March.
Just look at us, we had a 1 seed, out in the Sweet 16, a 4 seed and make it to the Final Four.

If Bristow is healthy, he needs to be playing the most minutes for our bigs. Bol Bowen and Sherrell (solid tonight) are just so inconsistent especially on the defensive end. People keep talking about Bristow as the Stevenson upgrade, but he's our Mo upgrade. 11 boards in 19 minutes. He needs to be playing 25+ minutes.

Need to get Wrightsell back and Bethea on the floor and we will become nearly unstoppable offensively. Aden was off so our offense became Philon or bust. Few getting credited by the TV crew for the defensive adjustments on Philon when all he did was throw him doubles and it worked because no one else could create anything. Mallette's stat line is laughable, but honestly it reflected how he played. Bigs are getting a lot of the blame for the boards but there were countless times Mallette's man got the board or he was in a position to fight for the board and he just stood there. Weird game from him, as his effort is normally there. I don't care what kind of leader he is in the locker room, he played way too much tonight. Nate isn't afraid to pull guys, so that was kind of shocking to see.

Zags had grown azz men in that starting line up. Stephen Gentry of Gonzaga is overdue for a hc gig.

i wasnt all that impressed with Gonzaga. I got tired of listening to the announcers orgasming over them. We played like feces and missed a lot of free throws and bunny layups otherwise we were right there at the end.

I wouldnt be afraid of drawing them in March.

If the threes aren’t falling, none will win you the game. That is a lot of the frustration with the roster management, it’s not the first time.

Golden owns Oats, that certainly isn’t going to change this year with their massive frontcourt advantage.

And Arizona is going to do unspeakable things to our bigs.

Bama has Philon, as complete of a guard as will ever exist.

This could easily be a deep run team on him alone.

My prediction is this team will win the SEC and be a 2 or 3 seed come March(the SEC is shitty this year) as long as we aren’t in Purdue or Gonzaga’s bracket we will be OK

Just being honest, I didn't see a weakness for them.

A lot of people are missing that they didn’t shoot it well either. We actually outshot them by percentage. Their roster management allowed them to control the blocks and win without shooting well. we don’t value that when building the team. We can say we do, but it doesn’t show.

I tend to agree. We really need to finish the noncon slate with no more than 3 losses though.

You’re right, but the pundits are trying to inject energy into a pretty low stakes regular season. People want to hear they are watching a final four team. I doubt seeding moves the needle.

We will beat Arizona in Birmingham.

Have you seen Floridas Guards? They are terrible. Teams will outplay our bigs but if they don’t have the Guards to play even with our Guards they ain’t beating us

We should win the rest of them except Arizona. That is 50/50
