I have new respect for Moses after hearing of his injury struggles this past season. You could tell Dylan knew everybody’s assignments and directed traffic like a pro out there. But his body just wouldn’t allow him to make the plays he needed to make every time.

Bring on the downvotes but what a bunch of shite. Sure he had injuries, but injuries have nothing to with playing pussy soft. This isn’t the same as donta hightower being a step slow because of injury. Dylan was the softest ILB we’ve ever had.

He was a master at running up to the outskirts of the pile, or hiding behind a block in order not to engage a RB.

If I could, I would go to State Farm Arena and get me three suitcases full of downvotes to give to you.

Yep. I'll also add, the ball control offense we used to run did as much to limit the other team's scoring as the defense did. It's difficult to score a lot if you only get the ball a few times a game.

This is what so many of the people bitching don’t understand. We are often now seeing offenses running 80-90 plays a game vs. 55-60 a decade ago. It’s completely distorting some of the metrics we were accustomed to on evaluating defenses

Go to any game thread, everyone was saying the same thing. They were correct.

What do the metrics say on delayed safety blitzes?

The Bama Sunshine Crew can handle the fact the Jimmy and Joe's are the problem. Everybody Bama signs is elite in their world. Pete might not be it but you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shite no matter what brand of mayo you use.

Markail Benton, Kaho, Moody, and Shane Lee....no wonder we have to play a one legged man as a starter.

Oh and Chris Harris ain't all that as well. There better be some players in that 2020 LB class that can play.

You can't handle the truth.

Not sure if you directed this at me, but I’m kind of on the fence with Golding. He does some stupid shite, but he’s also stuck with less than ideal linebackers. I think I posted a few days ago that I wouldn’t be upset if he stayed or left

I don't think he was soft. When he had the opportunity he seemed to bring a pretty good hit. I think he never could get a good grasp on where the rb was going until he was out of position. He seemed to me to be consistently fooled by any type of misdirection.

Honestly i don't know enough about defense to know what his responsibility was on those plays. I just assumed that if he was running behind the play then he messed up. I will say no one did him any favors with his injury by having him try to cover rbs coming out if the backfield. He had an obvious weakness there and it was exploited in obvious situations. That was one area where i really doubted goldings ability sometimes.

Absolutely.

Or defense should real improvements since the Ole Miss game and played lights out until the Florida game. But played well in the playoffs. With the talent we have on defense this coming season I think Golding will be really good with them.

Well done.

I’d like Pruitt for sure. Or Boom or Strong. Just not sure how likely any of those are. Strong is a no, and I don’t think Boom is on the chopping block. I was a big detractor the last two seasons, but they improved. If Pruitt isn’t available, I don’t think I help Golding “find a new opportunity” at this point.

As for LB’s, Harris and Anderson are animals.

You can't practice defense against air. You have to hit somebody. The ridiculous Chinese Flu rules and schedules affected defense much more than offense. You could see as the year went on the defense got better. A lot of the Golding hate was over the top.
