Will better get going or the UGA fans are going to give him the Pete Golding treatment.

Will and Pete don't tackle or cover.

We played Texas, Arkansas A&M and Tennessee and Mississippi State back to back. It’s hard to play tough teams every week. We had no mizzou or South Carolina scheduled between our big conference games.

South Carolina was certainly a better team than A&M this year. Bama’s regular season schedule was tougher than UGA’s but I don’t know why you are so sure they would also have 2 losses.

Both our losses featured a heavy dose of a shite ton of penalties and clear unpreparedness. It had nothing to do with being worn out or overwhelmed with a tough schedule like you’re trying to imply. UGA has not shown that at all but somehow they’d lose 2 games in similar fashion

It will be helpful if UF, UT, and even AU can get a little better so they can challenge UGA on that side of the ledger.

The West is a battle zone at this point.

This isn’t a slam on UGA because they are doing all the right things and I’m not saying they are a paper tiger. But at the risk of sounding like an LSU fan, they do have some scheduling luck. They didn’t have to go to Tennessee this year. They got to go to BDS during Covid. They play Florida in Jacksonville. A&M has been in the SEC for a decade and UGA has never had to play there. Their biggest rival is trash. Nearly every game was in the state of Georgia this year. Next year they have a schedule that would make Clemson embarrassed.

Again, it doesn’t take anything away from what they’re doing but they haven’t had to face the gauntlet that teams in the West have had to face. Championship teams usually have things break their way. It is what it is….

Why are you on a Bama board? Seriously, other than to stir the pot. You guys are good but probably should have lost Saturday night. And, if you can see without Georgia glasses on, you would realize that you would have lost the championship last year with a healthy Metchie and Williams. The SEC championship told the real story.

Kirby has struggled several times with offenses with similar talent, especially when those offenses had multiple weeks to prepare.

While we are talking about UGA’s fortunate breaks, what about Todd Monkin? The guy has done an exceptional job with that offense and you don’t even hear whispers about other schools looking to hire him.

Meanwhile whenever we won a natty, we’d lose half the staff.

Yeah its incredible what Monken has done with their offense. They do have a bunch of talent obviously, and Bennett is a fine QB, but he has gotten the most out of those players, and calls that offense brilliantly. It could be that he doesn't want to be a head coach again. He kind of has it made at UGA right now.

Well you aren’t listening. He’s gotten a ton of interest in CFB HC and NFL OC jobs over the last two years. He said he is getting old and isn’t gonna jump unless it’s a perfect fit.

They never will acknowledge that. They always bring up some role player types on their squad that were injured as well to compare as an equal situation.

Because I can actually discuss football and recruiting with most posters. Hell, I’ve been posting on this board longer than you have and no one has had an issue with it besides you.

Why are you so upset that I pointed out that USCe is ranked higher than everyone Bama played besides UT and LSU? They aren’t a gimme like the OP kept saying.

QB1 was injured and could not push the ball vertically down the field. How do people forget this?

Yeah but the team still had a ridiculous number of penalties and overall sloppy and seemingly unprepared play (on the coaching). Both of those things contributed significantly to the losses. And my point was UGA didn’t suffer from those issues to nearly the extent Bama did

Our secondary was better than theirs. Our ends were better. But the middle of their defense is better than ours.

hmm... they weren't ranked until the last 2 weeks of the season, which did not involve uga playing a ranked usce. uga has benefited more from a weak sece, than any other team in america. as weak as the big is, even tosu and michigan have to play each other.

Gotta remember that they played Vols in Athens during a driving rainstorm.

I’m not saying they didn’t have a good plan - they did - but they got every externality outside of just football to their favor there.

Supposedly, he hates recruiting. That's a big part of this. He gets paid very well and his only job is to design and coach offense.

A healthy Bryce and Bama doesn't lose to UT or LSU. I could see Bama giving Georgia fits just like OSU as the Bama receivers were starting to play better near the season's end. The only constant problem was the defense continued to be a sieve. At least they were matched up with a Big 12 team in the Sugar Bowl which is what the Bama defense has turned into. A Big 12 type of defense.

To be honest, Monken has received quite a bit of interest from other schools looking for a head coach this year. He has said time and time again he's got a gravy train at Georgia and is happy. Now does that translate to "The right job hasn't came open yet?" I guess time will tell, but we're happy with him and hope he never leaves.
