I need someone to explain to me how this team with such key injuries is favored so much in this game.

Texas AM is 1-3 in the SEC with each SEC loss by 10 or more points. Their only SEC win was against Arkansas. They are arse.

Marcel Reed has played 2 SEC road games. He has completed 44% of his passes for 0 TDs and 3 INTs. Overall in SEC play he has 1 TD and 5 INTs and is completing 51% of his passes. He is the worst QB in the SEC by a decent margin.

So what you're saying is that he's going to go 22/30 for 265 and 2 TDs on Saturday?

There is no way the team that showed up against UT is winning this game by 13.5. No way. TAMU may not score a lot, but neither will we

Why? The vast majority of QBs facing Alabama do not play well.

UT's QB had his lowest QB rating of the year. He had zero TDs. 1 INT. Lowest yards per attempt of the year. He did not have a good statistical game.

UT’s QB didn’t really need to do anything statistical to beat us. We kept giving him five yard throws

If Alabama’s offense were modestly productive, Tennessee would have needed to force the issue.

I don’t mind Womack’s plan but it was predicated on complimentary football like they got from the offense in TSIO 2025

Why are our db’s always 10 yards off the receivers with the troubles that has given us this year? I like Wommack in spite of how the last two games have gone but I do not understand our alignment when it’s clear the teams we play are taking advantage of it.

We did the same thing v. Tennessee’s veer n shoot last year and nobody complained about the pick six and 20 points surrendered.

The problem in this game - and really 9 out of 10 DeBoer losses - is the offense melted down and provided no support to the offense.

Hell, we got to halftime down 12-10 and got the ball to start the half. Not hard to imagine the game playing completely differently if we didn’t call a god dang counter run on 4th and 1 when all 11 were playing the run. The game was over at that point right there. Instead of killing momentum, we got washed over by it.

A bigger percentage of big plays or penalties comes in tight coverage. Wommack is hoping that mistakes will be made by the offense, or a drop will occur with the frequent 10 yard throws. That's the only thing I can see

Tennessee really has struggles when people don’t let them get cheap explosive TDs. Their red zone offense is basically “welcome back to 90s SEC.”

The percentage play is to make them stack plays and expect a penalty or execution problem to kill a drive or hold them to the field goal attempt once they get in the area where they just play I form power and high school play action passes near the goal line.

I was feeling pretty optimistic at the half...thinking we couldn't play any worse and was getting the ball to start the half down only 2.

Then...Grubbed.

It's not a bad idea to play off the WRs as a rule. It's usually not a bad idea to do it against Heupel's offense. The problem was continuing to do it when it was clear they weren't going to throw it deep and instead dump it off for short gains. Hell, you could show them press and bail out, or show them off the line and then come down. But Kane showed a young QB exactly what the defense was going to do and allowed him to just dump it off late in the game over and over.

If we went up to take away the screen, I think our corners would’ve gotten cooked.

Maybe. Or maybe we get enough pressure on him to either sack him or make him make a mistake.

#5 has shown over and over that he does not have the quickness and hips to play press man. He is a zone CB with decent long speed and a great defend radious. You have to protect him from getting beat over the top and allow him to play the ball moving forward.

#3 & #18 at safety do not have the long speed to cover mistakes from the CB's.

And obviously - with no bump on the line of scrimmage, receivers can be full speed when the ball is thrown. At least a bump might buy our DL some time to disrupt the timing of the QB
