Saban would lose his mind about players and fans overlooking teams. That carried over into the games.

This team was not properly prepared. And again, did it not dawn on them that the opposing coach was going to literally be coaching for his job and might actually have his team ready?

One thing is unfathomable about this game and some others in DeBoer’s tenure. How can we be unprepared for what an unranked opponent is doing on both offense and defense??

Agreed. I really don't think there is an internal expectation to prepare for a bad team the same way you'd prepare for a good one.

FSU is clearly CKD’s OM.
If we can't handle FSU's pretty damn generic spread run offense then we are going to get got by someone else too. We really struggle with misdirection runs and the increased size at DL and speed at LB has not helped at all. It is schematic.

If CKW doesn’t go back to his typical “spot-drop” version of “zone” coverage then FSU will continue to beat them on 1-on-1 matchups and get the edge in the run game.
Theres just no reason for them to get away from something that’s worked so well for a long time.
This reminds me of the Vandy game Year 1, when they tried defending the option with all the motions, and a mobile QB with straight man coverage.
CKW just needs to go back to basics and do t do anything differently than he had the past 20 games in the Secondary (fewest completions of 31 yards or more in the country last year and anyway 3 of those in this half).
Theres just no reason for them to get away from something that’s worked so well for a long time.

When we had a lightning delay that one time under Saban @Mizzou..halftime was 5 mins. Wonder if it will be that here

Yeah there's some strange things happening here that confuse me. If FSU hit some awesome trick plays it would be something but they're not. They're just whipping our arse up front and winning against coverage. Which they have a poor track record of against pretty much everyone else. 0 is great but qb and o like play has and is consistently horrible. But how do they make up such a physicality difference? Maybe there's just such little difference now in the NIL era that it makes that large of noticeable result

I really expect Kane to adjust, but you’re right — defense just looks lost on too many plays.
That first option/toss from FSU, nobody was even rolling with the QB/RB to disrupt it. It was just lazy.

Whether this staff (a.) gets the players’ attention and (b.) adjusts some things during this delay and whether the team responds may be a make or break moment here.

Saban lost some head scratchers occasionally, and there were times the teams struggled against inferior foes, especially towards the end of his tenure.
I think it might be the players just aren’t buying in to any teams like they once did.

If Norvell loses this game, he may get fired tonight. DeBoer is also going to be feeling the heat if he loses yet again to this awful team. The always coming out flat and penalties on offense are coaching issues and that falls back on his buddy that's the OC. He either goes down with his buddy, or tries to fix the problem.

It looks like every 3rd and medium to long has been man free blitz and they've just ran a post or slant every time for easy pitch and catch (that first TD was a bit of circus catch I guess)

Yep...No matter how schematic FSU is, Ashton Daniels is hot garbage... No reason for him to be "on" against this defense.
