How is he so capable of giving our defense fits? Is it that we don’t have a dominant nose tackle? Inside linebackers weak? Blocking schemes are confusing our defense?

I’ve noticed most Saban defenses struggle to contain the edge and flats when a competent spread offense is ran with good running backs and a mobile QB. The LBs bite on the read options or overrun the ball. What surprised me today was how soft the coverage was when it came to respecting Thorne’s passing ability.

We gave up 24 points.
Not exactly a shutout, but not exactly like they totally ran up and down the field on our defense.

Actually they did. 244 yards is a lot, especially from a 6-5 team.

1) LB play was shite across the board for most of the game.

2) Freeze has beat Saban two times. 2014 was not some explosion on offense, and BAMA won just about every stat on offense besides the turnover battle.

2015 BAMA turned the ball over FIVE TIMES, and still held the lead in most stats on offense.

1 was the answer against the run. 2 is more important this week they ran picks and our DB 's shite the bed.

For us to have a chance this week the defense cannot play like that. We have to have their best game. I'd have to say that was close to their worst.

Cheat on every play because they will seldom call it.

True. But they did the same thing last year to us in Bryant-Denny and that was a 5-6 team. They ran for over 300 yards against us in that game.

It appeared to me that the LBs were too shallow and got caught up in the wash. It could also be that the DL was getting pushed back into them. Either way, we better tighten it up this week in practice.

I don't know if we'll struggle against Georgia's run the way we struggled against Auburn's. Auburn relies more on misdirection and finesse, things that almost always give Saban's defense fits.

But this was expected. Freeze also circles this game... and why not. A win universally ends up with contract extension pressure from Jimmy Sexton.

Having watched AU this year, I caught at least 2 plays I haven't seen executed before - resulting in big gains for their offense.

Hard to scheme against something you've never seen.

If it makes you feel better (or worse) AU had almost identical stats against Georgia. That may be because Kirby runs Saban's defense though.

Caught a piece of something at the beginning of the game by Gary mentioning that Freeze had been helped by some coach with a few plays the coach thought would work well against Saban's defense.

We should have played more true DL.

If Kendrick Law's TD isn't called back, that game is fricking over then. The momentum swung wildly on that and the next series. Propelled the barn to playing better than they are.

Uga won't be so lucky. They are DOOMED.

Freeze spent several years studying the Saban defense.

He puts the CB's/Safeties in conflict then tosses a pick in the middle of the conflicted area. One of the WR's pops out of the conflict area and pops for 15 yards (or so).

Run game, he puts the LB's and DL in conflict and crashes the edge of the conflict.

Yesterday was a cotinuation of what he did several years ago at Ole Miss

Yea said this yesterday in another thread

We will play better next week I think. AU does some things in the run game that make DL play slow and reactive. UGA is more straightforward in that regard. Still got to stop em but I think it fits our style better . Anyway, hell of a game and

It’s why I hated to see Freeze at Auburn really

It's happened 10x this year... I don't think it's luck. If was a bad play by Dipre ...he ran past the assignment and reached back and held a guy that law was going to beat
