but the DLine simply got manhandled by a group of undersized nobodies. It looked to me like a simple effort problem.

They had numbers and size in the box.

We didn’t make adjustments and I’m sure it didn’t help that Lawson went down who had been calling plays for us all season up front.

A lot of what happened falls on scheme IMO.

Disagree with the Coach Bryant reference. He would have absolutely won with Milroe or whoever his QB was.
There would be no one loafing on defense or offense, QB be damned.

Please … look what happened when he had Scott Hunter who was a better “quarterback” (not athlete) than Milroe.

Coach Bryant got really happy with himself after that run from 61>66. He slacked in recruiting and Scott (Musso as well) and the 68-69-70 team paid the price. He got busy recruiting again and the wishbone and the 71>82) run was great.

Being fired up to play, usually lasts about a quarter.

How many times did it happen under Saban? Teams come out fire up like crazy when they played Alabama, then reality set in the 2nd quarter.

Saban wasn't big on his teams playing with emotions. He wanted his teams to play to a standard.

The team was unprepared and no adjustments where made by the coaching staff.

Absolutely correct. A good hype talk in the locker room before kickoff is fine - “Make his arse quit!” - but it comes down to preparation and game plan after the first few times you get your teeth rattled.

How many times back during the Bryant days when we were beating them like a drum did the Barn come out practically foaming at the mouth before the game, while we showed that we were there to do business. And we usually did business.

It's simple, for the second time this year the coaches didn't have the team ready to play. They are not used to the grind of the SEC and are used to not preparing for teams that aren't having good seasons.

Too bad DeBoer didn't have the pleasure of preparing for Chattanooga like Saban did last year at this time.

The attitude was eerily similar in both the Vandy and OU games. Just seemed like the players were not very engaged. Seemed like they would’ve rather been elsewhere.

Starts with the coaching... We have coaching issues (coordinators ) that need to be addressed in off season. Then, we need to get players for whatever system CKD is trying to run.

Surely you aren't ok with the three losses... surely you can see that our coaches were poop in all three

That’s the problem. It’s one thing if Bama’s losses all came to ranked teams and was a competitive back and forth affair. Only the Tennessee game was like that. The losses to Vandy and especially Oklahoma were unacceptable. Completely out-coached from start to finish by 5 loss teams

No I am not OK with the losses in any shape, form or fashion but the guy I responded to is constantly blathering that DeBoer won’t succeed because he’s not from the South and we ought to be long past that by now. I know some folks are still fighting the Civil War (spoiler: we lost) but to me Bama is a national brand. If DeBoer fails, it won’t be because he doesn’t eat pinto beans and cornbread in buttermilk.

And I am on record in a thread here, it may be this one but I have lost track, that I am giving DeBoer a pass until the last snap of this season because despite all the blathering about how he was handed the keys to a Lamborghini and how our roster was loaded with talent (spoiler: it wasn’t, and eventually people will realize that Saban worked an absolute miracle from the Almighty last year and it was silly to expect that to continue without a blip), in actuality he stepped into a toxic, transitory situation that Saban got out of Dodge rather than deal with at this point in his life.

That pass ends with our last snap and doesn’t include the coordinators.

We will never know for sure, but I wonder how things would have unfolded if Grubb and Huff would have joined the staff.

If Kalen and Staff lose back to back games to 5-win teams, shows there is doubt he can handle the Bama job.

Bama has to win this game.

You make my point for me. Like I said, I was responding to one particular poster who if you’ll look at his posting history is harping on that.
