Put Charlot and the fast little running back that we just signed back there, as long as they can hold on to the ball.

Wonder if Sheffield is impressing. He seems like a better cover guy while Fitzpatrick is physical

I wanna go ahead and say I'm also on the Tosh Lupoi hype train. Watching him teach the OLBs is fun, and they seem to respond to him. We've got a lot of talent at OLB, I'm thinking he'll get the most out of em.

If Barnett starts and Ridley gets a good bit of PT, it'll be great to see those two get three years to develop together.

Cornwell can't even hit the WRs in stride but people want him in over Coker

Coker is this years Cyrus Jones. A good junk of the fanbase just doesn't like him, for whatever reason.

I've noticed the same was true last year too. Maybe despite the fact that he grew up a Bama fan they see him as FSU property and that just irks them, IDK.

Yeah he came from FSU when they were probably the two fan bases were peaking in hostility towards one another.
I'm biased towards Coker but I've admitted as much, and it has to do with me having seen his work ethic and his ability in person and having a good understanding of his potential. I really want the kid to succeed and get pretty rustled by the unnecessary hate

I think if anything people feel burned for buying into the Coker hype last year so they're understandably skeptical this year.
I still feel like he's the front-runner and most likely Game 1 starter. But he's going to have to earn it.

ESPN’s Travis Haney characterized Jake Coker winning the job as “a major upset.” Haney reported that Coker’s lack of leadership and inability to win over teammates has been his biggest downfall at Alabama. He also wrote that true freshman Blake Barnett, expected to redshirt, could be closer to winning the starting job than Coker.
You were saying?

If we're to believe everything ESPN says I guess we're losing 2-3 games and won't even make it to Atlanta
Glad we got that over with now we can start focusing on recruiting and 2016

Play whomever gives us the best chance to win.
But, frick, could you imagine being Coker or Cornwell, and watching as a FR comes in and gets the nod over you, gets the keys to a potential playoff contender, all because you repeatedly under-performed while the coaching staff was gagging for you to take the job?
Thats the kind of shite that will eat a man alive, until after a-couple-year-long bender of oxy's and xanax costs you your job selling insurance, and you eat a bullet in a shitty motel outside Centerpoint at the age of 32.

Alabama returned the the practice field Wednesday, as the Crimson Tide players practiced outside and in full pads on a sunny, 91-degree afternoon in Tuscaloosa. It was the team's eighth practice of its 2015 fall camp.
Here are several tidbits from Alabama's eighth fall training camp practice session on Wednesday:
- Running back Kenyan Drake, like he did in the spring, practiced with the wide receivers during the viewing periods.
- Wide receiver Chris Black (ankle) appeared to still be somewhat limited, although he was not wearing a black, no-contact jersey and did participate in some pass-catching drills. He took his reps near the back of the receiver line and ran at about 3/4 speed. His left ankle was heavily taped.
- Redshirt freshman cornerback Marlon Humphrey (pulled muscle) was also limited once again as he stood near the back of the cornerback line during individual drills, not doing anything.
- The only player wearing a black, no-contact jersey -- outside of the QBs -- was running back Bo Scarbrough (knee).
- What appeared to be the first-team offensive line was the same unit from the opening of fall camp. From left to right it was Cameron Robinson, Ross Pierschbacher, Ryan Kelly, Bradley Bozeman and Dominick Jackson with the first group.
- The second-team offensive line was the same, too, as it appeared to be comprised of Korren Kirven at left tackle, Isaac Luatua at left guard, JC Hassenauer and center, Alphonse Taylor at right guard and Brandon Greene at right tackle.
- What appeared to be the third-team offensive line was dominated by freshmen. Lester Cotton was at left tackle, Dallas Warmack was at left guard, Brandon Kennedy was at center, Richie Petitbon was at right guard and Matt Womack was at right tackle. Cotton doesn't look like a freshman out there with the third-team offensive line.
- Linebacker Reggie Ragland was back with the inside linebackers Wednesday after seeing reps with the outside linebackers during Tuesday night's practice. Dillon Lee worked alongside Ragland once again during inside 'backer drills.
- Cornerbacks Tony Brown and Minkah Fitzpatrick continue to see reps at the left corner and Star spots on defense.
- Scouts from the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos watched practice from the sideline

And what information do you have to indicate Coker is the guy?

The fact that it's generally always noted he's first in line and is always throwing to the 1s seems like a good thing to start with.
Cornwell being unable to hit our WRs in stride last night is concerning.
Blake could sneak up on him and take the job but I think most of us believe those to be tough odds. Meanwhile most of these "Cornwell will start" predictions are "feelings" by people that aren't even at practice and are constantly hitting on the "youth/continuity" factor despite our staff stating that's not an issue for them.
