The transfer portal and NIL are broken and we all can see that. If you need to understand how bad it really is see the link below to Jay Norvell (CSU Head Coach) talking about what's really happening with these "agents". Everyone is tampering to a certain degree though, just like Bone immediately putting in a crystal ball for Horton at Miami to come to Alabama as soon as he hit the portal. I do believe that Deboer and this staff value "transformation over transaction" and thats the correct approach in my opinion. All it takes is looking at Ole Miss or Ohio State this year.. they bought the best rosters money could buy and still dropped games they should win and OSU wouldnt be in the playoffs if they didnt play in the Big 10. Alabama is going to lose guys to the portal every single year that are chasing the bag because we dont have the donor base that some programs do, and we arent going to throw money at the problem like others. Put a little trust in Coach Deboer and Courtney Morgan and we are going to be just fine.

The players need a union to bring these predatory agents to heel.

The only way this crap will get fixed from the higher ups is if Bama takes advantage and it helps us in any way. They change/make up rules based on our success anyways.

What? The players love these agents negotiating bigger pay days. Everything he said is true. This is what CFB is I’m just trying to figure out is this something I want to spend my time following?

Agents getting 15-20% cut on cfb athletes is insane and way more than a realistic commission for an agency in damn near any line of work.

Why would the players agree to a union? They've literally got complete control right now. Pandora's box has been opened and it's not being closed.

For all of those people who wanted "fairness" and the players to get their "fair share". This is what "fair" looks like... I hope they all like "fair".

A players union is the inevitable end game for this system because it will be a necessary precondition for the schools to create a "colluded" contract system to end unlimited free agency. A side benefit is that the players union can deny agencies from predatory practices on players and parents who have limited information on how player representation works.

How do you form a player's union though? Does each sport get their own CBA? Because there is minimal alignment of interests between an SEC football player and a Mountain West women's cross country runner. Does every school get a rep? Are those reps players or administrators? I don't disagree that a CBA is a necessity at this point, but I think actually executing one is next to impossible.

Honest question... why would anyone "trust" DeBoer ?

Alabama paid him to install his offensive system here at Bama, and the dumb MF picked the only QB on the team that could prevent that, and went on to implement some sort of mickey mouse bullshite offense that put 3 points on a 5-5 Oklahoma with the entire season on the line.

Morgan ? You mean trust a Suge Knight type persona ? Yeah, everybody knows you can trust a "bag man." Lol

I think this is the problem but with the entire system. They allowed the flood gates to open and now they cant close them. There are so many layers to the transfer portal and NIL that it would need sweeping reform that basically shuts the whole thing down while they figure it out and make changes.

This is the conundrum. They need a huge reset to actually build a system instead of trying to replace a wing on a plane in flight.

Saban picked that same QB, and then went to a lacrosse player before Simpson.

What actions has Morgan made that makes him Suge Knight? Because I think the only similarities are that theyre both fat and black.

Take your dumbass comments somewhere else man because you are the worst poster on this board and have been since Milroe played a snap at Alabama.

But can you force a players union on players who don't want it? These kids have complete control right now and with a players union, they'll begin to have to negotiate things that right now they don't have to negotiate.

Need good coaches and money. Example; Georgia, Oregon and Texas.

Have that and you are set every single year. Bama needs to pay up and get better coaching.

I think it will get forced upon them from the schools. The schools say "we want to offer contracts that are standardized in some fashion across the FBS and we will be collectively bargaining with [insert player union name here] to reach agreements on this structure" then the players have a choice between unionizing or not getting offered contracts. the courts will allow it because this is the basic structure of all the major pro sport leagues in the US.

your choices as a fan are to see players demanding play time and position changes in addition to more money to stay on the roster next year or the structure I described above.

nobody may like it but what I described sure as shite is more palatable for the majority of the schools and all the fans.

Bama will never have the money Texas and Oregon do. UGA has Kirby and they still should have lost to GA Tech, Kentucky, and Florida if Lagway doesnt get hurt... and he lost to Alabama.

Crazy how 100 year old defensive minded Saban got more out of Captain Lank than DeBoer could.

Yeah, telling everyone Milroe was awful while the media told them he was a Heisman contender wasn't very popular, but it was 100% correct so eat a bag of dicks simple jack.
