It’s not the end of the world. We’ve been here before. This season is very similar to 2019. Our amazing QB got hurt and the team wasn’t the same afterwards. The only difference is Tua couldn’t play through his injury. Bryce is so good that he can make you forget his arm isn’t the same right now. If we lose next week it’s similar to 2010.
1. Stop blasting the players. They are working their asses off.
2. Stop blasting Saban. He’s earned the right to go out on his terms.
3. Blast BoB and Pete all you want. Just don’t act like we can’t win the whole thing with them both coaching next year. BoB is basically McElwain and Pete is a lot like early Kirby. A lot of folks thought he want going to make it and needed to be fired too.

Did they legalize weed in Alabama and I missed the memo?

Most people on this forum wanted Kirby fired after 2010. He gave up 35 to South Carolina, 28 to Auburn and 24 to LSU. We couldn’t stop anyone with a good offense in the 4th quarter. This was all before the offensive explosion in college football. I’m not saying Pete will end up being Kirby but let’s not act like Kirby was a defensive savant immediately.

We have a less than 1% change of making it to ATL but we can still make a New Years 6 bowl. I know we like to act like a season is champion or bust but they only give out one of those per year. A 10 win season is nothing to scoff at.

SECRant didn't even exist in 2010.

I came from Woolyal and lots of the guys here came from there too. I was speaking to the universal you of all Alabama forums though. Most at the time were saying Kirby didn’t have what it takes and Saban needed to fire him.

I agree about Coach Saban; I fully disagree with you about the players. A few are trying hard and working hard. Most are not. They deserve the criticism. And yes, my God, they are all poorly coached. BOB is nowhere near McElwain, and he was not an all timer, but was very effective. Golding is the worst coach I have seen in 50 years at Alabama. He is an inept fool standing on the sideline robbing the university each week when he gets a paycheck.

This team is so poorly coached, it wasn't going to win a natty...With the way and played on the road, I'd be be surprised they win their bowl game.

That's not really my memory, but I'm sure some people did melt about that. By that point, though Smart had already put out great defenses in his second and third years as DC. We're still waiting on Golding to field even a good defense four years in.

Imagine a bowl game against a decent opponent. Now imagine that we have a number of starters sitting out.

Makes you want to make different plans for New Year’s Day.

If by early Kirby, you mean his first day coaching then I might agree.

Also, Jim would coach circles around BoB.

1. There is just no way you are right about this. I think you are confusing effort with talent. These guys are working their asses off. There are no Billingsly or Hall type guys on this team.
2. McE and BoB are very similar. McE had no creativity. He ran a very old school NFL offense just like BoB does now. It leans on beating the man in front of you. Unfortunately we don’t have the talent at oline or WR to do that this year.
3. Golding won a championship his first year and his defenses tend to get better the longer the season goes on. Last night had nothing to do with him. BoB was the only coach to blame. Our defense was put in bad situations multiple times last night and they won those way more than they lost them. Now the UcheaT game was all Pete’s fault. He went in playing scared of Hooker and never made an adjustment.
4. I hope BoB leaves after the season but if he doesn’t We’ll be ok. We can win a ‘ship with these guys coach if we have studs on the oline and wr come in next year or make improvements in the offseason. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Brockmyer twins be 3rd year studs next season.

Based on what?

We rarely see a gang tackle anymore. Guys in the secondary will watch one of their teammates make a tackle and just stand there instead of swarming to the football.

Anderson quit on several plays last night because he didn’t want to run down Daniels.

Even on the rare occasion someone other than Bryce makes a play, they do some choreographed dance instead of doing a celebration that shows some passion.

Golding's first year was 2019, so unless you're referring to the Citrus Bowl championship, this is inaccurate. His first year they gave up what at the time were two of the worst statistical defensive performances of the Saban era. In the years since, Golding has beaten those personal worsts on at least three occasions.

And side note, this fricking Best Buy add keep taking my screen up on the rant and it’s really starting to piss me off.
