Logically I don't know why Nick would start Milroe vs USF. The guy is going to be good/bad the rest of his time at Bama and that is it. He just doesn't have the makeup to be elite (mental wise).

We're looking at 7-5 and that might be the mark even if Milroe is replaced.

I imagine Jalen Hurts may have looked like this in his 2nd or 3rd career start but I seem to remember him actually leading a comeback in such the game v. Ole Miss…on the road no less.

Didnt Bama have 2 defensive TD's and a Special Teams TD that game?

Milroe is not. TB is on track to start this Saturday.

I think at this point, everyone is sounding like a broken record on MIlroe.... It's thursday and I don't see any discussion oN USF.

We should be paying attention to USF as the HC of the USF is the one that torched us last year when he was the OC for Tennessee.

The great thing about playing USF this week is that it prepares us for the tempo of Ole Miss. Both offenses go fast, fast, fast!

Wanted a kid to succeed but you post two garbage screenshots that doesn't tell anything while not posting screen shots of him throwing Burton open before he even made his cut. Makes sense.

Overall I dont think Milroe is the guy, but it's ridiculous how much hate he's gotten from the fanbase. It's easy to pile on him when things didnt go well, but Saban and Rees thought/think he's the guy so I'm going to back him until they make a change because he did some positive things too. Maybe I'm too soft or whatever but I promise no one on this site felt worse than him for his performance.

Reading the tea leaves from CNS's press conferences this week, I think you're right.

I will be SHOCKED if it's Milroe trotting out to start Saturday.

I'd like to see Buchner and Simpson get meaningful playing time. USF isn't Texas, but you can still find out who does things correctly. Yeah, we can play Milroe and he can out-athlete USF and have a few highlight runs...but we need the guy who shows he can read a defense, make good decisions, show accuracy on short and intermediate passes. The QB can't out athlete Texas (obviously), Tennessee, LSU and especially Georgia if we get there. We've gotta find the guy. Certain players rise to the occasion when it's live fire and not just practice. Hopefully we have one of those.

The throw to Burton you mention was his one good play, although you exaggerate mightily saying there was immediate pressure. Go back and rewatch the play. There was a complete clean pocket and he steps into the path of the defender as he did repeatedly that night.

Obviously, no one is rooting for him to fail. But we all are rooting for you to stop posting if this is indicative of your typical quality.

I agree I watched his whole presser I wouldn't be shocked if that was the only change but at QB I think it's TB.

Also he hinted at we were tipping run pass and there is a story out there that Procter was the key and Texas was reading him to see what the call was.

That's the point.

He made two terrible decisions when he wasn't pressured. Imagine him making a decision with a man in his face.

Like we don't have hours worth of game film from Saturday to show us exactly what you're asking us to "imagine".

C'mon folks... You can be against Milroe as QB1 and still acknowledge how arse his protection and snaps were all night.

He took the strip sack that left us down 24-7 and the next possession immediately led the offense down the field for a score. Jalen Hurts got that dog in em. Milroe don’t. That’s the difference.

That doesn't show you he made two horrible decisions when he had time to NOT make those choices?

Are you blind?

He made a great play. That great play does not offset the two horrendous ones highlighted in the screenshots.

We can’t say Milroe doesn’t have dog in him. He clearly came back and threw two touchdowns. If Hurts didn’t have an all world defense in 2016 against Clemson we would’ve been blown out that game because of his passing deficiency at the time. We all want to win but don’t count any of these guys out. We may need all three to win a championship.

Milroe is a competent quarterback when everything goes as designed. Unfortunately, this is college so it is hard to bet on that level of execution from the other 10 players every down.

So if Milroe is going to stay the quarterback and Alabama competes for the conference, it is going to involve the designs getting simpler, the coordination much better, and the execution more consistent from everyone else on offense.

Still, at the end of the day, does Milroe have the it factor? Four starts into his career at Alabama, my gut tells me no. He just doesn't have that preternatural playmaking you hope for from a guy with his athletic ability. Some of his 5 sacks were no hope to escape but several were because he had no sense of what is going on around him.

The whole season as I see it is predicated on QB play and pass rush.

We fix those elements we are playing for a championship, if not it’s 9-3 and on to next year.

I’m REALLY hoping Texas is ELITE in the trenches because I don’t think QB play is the worst of our concerns if not.

I’m not a Milroe guy and have never called for him to win the job. But I don’t think he’s the biggest problem. No QB on the roster would have done well with that OL.

And if we can’t get pressure on anybody nothing really matters. Teams WILL outscore us no matter who the QB is.

Milroe made some terrible throws but dear god everyone is acting like he did nothing positive at all. Go watch any other CFB, or NFL games QB's make mistakes. Hell, Joe Burrow was BENCHED because he was so bad Sunday!

It's like everyone was waiting for this kid to fail and cant point out any of the positive things he did. He's 20 years old and so many people are rooting on his downfall.

You're exactly right. His two INTs were pretty awful but he had two TD passes called back and had a center constantly snapping the ball at his feet and was running for his kife on almost every play like Bryce last year.

Where were the RPO calls? There should have been more motion on plays that's the number one way Sark creates space and confusion on offense. But we weren't doing it ourselves against their D.

Texas also called a bunch of pick plays and got away with it all game but every bullshite and petty thing we did, they had to call a penalty.

How does LSU go to Orlando and get all the calls (even though they couldn't capitalize)? And Auburn was in California and Cal got a 1st quarter pick six called back because of a 'whistle.' And there were other bad calls abainst Cal. But in our own stadium we get totally railed by the refs. I'm sick of it.

In his other game against real competition, he had only 1 pick but had at least two others that bounced off the hands of TAMU defenders.

Milroe averaging about 2 INTs a game in P5 competition and that seems to be about his water level right now.
