This thread is about the possibilty of Bryce winning the QB position.

It isn't about how or why we lost to Auburn.

No, Someone brought up Mac's mistakes in the LSU and Auburn game and i said not all is on Mac when it comes to that.

Bottom line: I wouldn't be shocked to see Young as #3 on depth chart in August. Every year, it's always someone that nobody gave a thought and it's usually someone that exceeded expectations.

Again, to them and you; this thread isn't about what our defense didn't or did do.

This thread is about Bryce Young.

If you honestly think he will be 3rd on the depth chart then you're not even worth responding to anymore and this conversation should be saved so we can all laugh this time next year.

With a limited spring practice? Not sure how he pulls that off, even with his incredible talent.

My only concern with Mac is turnovers, and the Iron Bowl may be clouding my perception of that.

Only one of the two picks was really his fault. The other bounced off of one of our guys and into the hands of an Auburn player.

He wins that game by 20 if it were played at home.

No. Bryce has the talent and was a quasi-OC at Mater Dei which runs a similar offense to what we run. Bryce is a very smart QB too. With that said, I predict Bryce will be the second string QB.

Stark play selection was not the best call after getting 1st and goal off the penalty against AU. we score there we seal the win.
The one thing that kiffin did that made me realized saban and bama finally rub off on him.
Was the game sealing Td when he just told the offense go win a national title at that goal line.I have nomore great calls so go knock somebody on there arse and get it done.

QBs under Saban who started: McCarron, Sims, Coker, Bateman, Barnett, Hurts and Tagovailoa.

Now, let's look at Qbs who signed with Alabama since 2007 and look at their ratings:
2007- Nick Fanuzzi. Never played a snap. Transferred to Rice. -Rated the No. 12 dual-threat quarterback, No. 440 overall player
2008-Star Jackson. Greg McElroy beat Star Jackson for Starting job. Transferred to Georgia State. Rated the No. 9 pro-style quarterback, No. 197 overall player
2009-AJ McCarron. We know the story on him. Rated the No. 7 pro-style quarterback, No. 87 overall player
2010-Phillip Sims. We know the story on him. Transferred to Virginia. Rated the No. 1 pro-style quarterback, No. 31 overall
2010-Blake Sims. he technially doesn't count as QB since he was ATH. Rated the No. 23 athlete, No. 305 overall player
2011-Phillip Ely. Transferred to Toledo. Rated the No. 17 pro-style quarterback, No. 553 overall player
2012-Alec Morris. Transferred to North Texas. Rated the No. 25 pro-style quarterback, No. 578 overall player
2013-Cooper Bateman. Blew his chance to start. Replaced by Hurt. Transferred to Utah. Rated the No. 4 pro-style quarterback, No. 81 overall player
2013-Parker McLeod. Transferred to Western kentucky and then Georgia. Rated the No. 40 pro-style quarterback, No. 925 overall player
2014-David Cornwell. Transferred to East Central University. Rated the No. 4 pro-style quarterback, No. 82 overall player
2014-Jake Coker(TR).
2015-Blake Barnett. The Famous quitter who went to Arizona state and USF. Rated the No. 1 pro-style quarterback, No. 6 overall player
2016-Jalen Hurts. Rated the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback, No. 192 overall player
2017- Tua Tagovailoa. Rated the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, No. 32 overall player
2017-Mac Jones. Rated the No. 18 pro-style quarterback, No. 399 overall player
2019-Tauila Tagovailoa. Transferred to Maryland. Rated the No. 5 pro-style quarterback, No. 180 overall player
2019-Paul Tyson. Rated the No. 12 pro-style quarterback, No. 321 overall player
2020-Bryce Young. Rated No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, No. 1 overall player.

All I'm saying is look at who we have on roster, and don't be suprised if you see Paul Tyson getting some chances this year. I remember some of folks on board was saying
that Tyson was doing well in practice. There are some QBs out there... that was ranked high and sucked big time. Reminds me of Gunner Kiel... or whoever he is.

It would make sense for Young to play 4 games and still get redshirted. But then again, Kid could play in enough games to get his feet wet and get used to the game.
Kid is good and yes he is smart, but he did not have spring practice, and they will have six weeks of
mini camp and that's not really enough time to process everything. SEC defense is whole another world .

I honestly do not believe Mac will not lose his job as long they win games.
Saban has history of playing it safe. There was time Hurts were struggling throughout the season and He never once pulled him out until the championship game. Blake Sims had up and down season and
Saban never pulled him out.

Yep. I'm not ruling it out like many seem to be. It might come to fruition during the USC game.

Expectations unchanged for Bryce Young in unprecedented spring (BamaOnLine)

doubt we ever see another QB airmail a gameplan like Tua during the Nike Saban era. It was pretty and it was expensive.

It's nice to be able to lean on the running game and we will if we have to but Tua wasn't the only reason our offense changed. Even a true freshman wins the job I think we continue to throw the ball to Waddle and Smith as much as possible. We are a hybrid pro-style/spread offense tha that likes to throw the ball. If our quarterback were Paul Tyson (not throwing him under the bus) then yeah, we would lean heavily on our three backs and play action off of it.

Mac can throw it and.Bryce Young is supposed to be another Tua. We are gonna throw it a lot and Mac has a deadly deep ball. I can't freaking wait.

If we stay a hybrid pro-style offense and stay true to that identity then our QBs will be in a full progression read offense. Featuring a strong running game from there is a snape and drawing an extra defender in the box is a given. At that point taking shots down the field with the long ball is a must.

Sark has to design his offense primarily around his mismatches, and we could easily have the deepest and most talented stable of backs in a long while. And I can't believe coach Saban is happy with the overall toughness of this team, especially in the 4th quarter. It's hard to see any of that come to fruition if we establish an offensive scheme again that consistently throws the ball to set up the run as an offensive identity.
