Exactly what I said the other day. He was constantly being negative towards the program. Always made backhanded comments about how the program would fail. I read someone say that he was an Army officer who lived in Huntsville. But you are right in that something just didn’t add up about him. It would have been interesting to know his real identity.

He was from the Huntsville area but stationed in Colorado. His brother also posted on theTidesports board and is friends with several posters in the real world. Swears that he is a huge fan just a glass is half empty kind of guy.

Do we have a proven star on offense? No.

Do we have ten guys who on paper could be a star if things break right?
Yes.

It’ll depend on OL play, QB play, system and how guys develop but would anyone be shocked if any of these guys ended the season as 1st team SEC or AA?
McClellan
Williams
Haynes
Benson
Burton
Law
Bond
Prentice
Brooks
Niblack

Yeah that's kind of the point of the OP. When was the last time we headed into a season where we could say that? Over 10 years ago at least

2 years ago? We had no stud proven offensive threats after the 2020 season. Billingsley and Metchie were the best hopes receiving. Not one knew what Jameson Williams would become. None of the running backs were proven; McClellan, Robinson, sanders, and Williams. Bryce Young, Milroe, and Bryant were the QBs and none saw significant snaps the previous year.

Lets see 2 years ago we had a new QB who was widely hailed as elite. There wasn't even a QB competition or question that he would start.

We knew what we had in Brian Robinson.
We knew that we had John Metchie (better than any of our current WRs), and we heard throughout fall camp that Jameson was the real deal, and would start day 1.

So yeah, id say that game 1 vs Miami we were feeling good about what the team would be, and we showed out.

That’s not what you posted.

The title of your thread is “Do we have a single playmaker on offense?”

We have at 10-15 skill guys who have star potential. Nearly everyone I listed was a 4-5* top 100 blue chip player out of HS. I’m not sure there is another team in the country with as many blue chip offensive skill players on the roster.

Will one of them turn into a star? TBD but statistically it’s very likely.
How will the new system look? Don’t know.
Who will be the QB? Not sure.
Is the OL back to being elite? Hope so.

Check back in after Texas and maybe turn down the angst levels to a 5 until there is evidence all of our top 100 recruits forgot how to play football.

In 2021 Alabama had Bryce Young coming in, who everyone had confidence in and was predicted as a future 1st round NFL QB. Brian Robinson was a known commodity and Metchie was a preseason 1st team all SEC guy.

This year's team is lacking known talent in a way Bama has not had in a long, long time. Defense better be stout.

God dang there are so many negative people on this site. It’s not worth reading anymore, honestly. Real Bama fans need to just abandon this board. It’s nothing but trolls.

Keep the faith, as there's still some great insights into the program from quality posters on this site. Eventually you learn who the alter-trolls are, as well as who the douchebag Bama fans are (like WW above.) You figure out which posts to skip over and who actually gives a shite about discussing football, which, believe it or not, is the majority on this board. It's just the trolls and d-bags are much more vocal and dedicated to spamming.

They aren’t trolls they are diehards that think the world is falling apart. We can distinguish between them pretty well here. Lots of good conversations going on. Jump in and give your opinion on the other side.

Playmakers I think a few will emerge in Bond, Niblack, and Law. Just my opinion.

If that is the case then you need to ban CrimsonBuddah, who is clearly only here to inflame. Everyone can see through his comments.

I’d like to see E.Henderson show out this yr. Never gets talked about much for good reason, didn’t have much of a role last yr.

Totally untrue. He played in every game last season. Mostly on special teams but saw time on offense. Saban raved about him as a player and person when asked about him.

What did I say that was untrue? He played last yr, he sure did, but didn’t have much of a role on offense.

His name doesn’t get mentioned a lot, he hasn’t done anything yet stat wise.

He was transitioning from running back to wide receiver last year . I think that he could definitely be a starting returner on special teams.

Going back to your post from earlier I wish that this site had an ignore feature. It would cut down on the BS and would make it much more enjoyable.
