Proctor having his phone at that time doesn’t bother me. That was during the warm-ups they do before they dress out and do the formal pre-game warm-ups, and it’s normal for guys to be listening to music during that time (which is why he would have his phone).

The word "demand" is missing from this sentence. Accountability must be demanded.

If CKD’s assistant coaches don’t respect or at least slightly fear their boss, why should the players? Wommack should have been in Deboer’s office at 7AM Sunday morning getting an arse chewing extraordinaire, and if not demoted or fired, tell him he’s on a week to week basis. One more frick-up like Vandy, Oklahoma, Michigan, and FSU where a team just runs it down our throats and you remain in a 3 or 4 man front and take the prison raping you are getting with no adjustments, don’t bother showing up Sunday. This is ridiculous when a middle school coach can break down the film and point out loafing, a total breakdown in fundamentals like keeping outside contain and tackling, blown assignments, wrong assignments, etc. and a million dollar SEC DC can’t figure it out or fix it. And you just stood up there yesterday and announced to the world that FSU didn’t surprise you, you just didn’t know how to do your job and stop it. This shitshow isn’t going to get any better until the complete disaster on defense is addressed and changed.

Saban created the perfect storm with the way he hired coordinators and developed them... that is why he will always be the greatest. Kirby is the prodigal son. I notice how he hires and develops. Our next coach should come from that tree... not Kiffin, not Sark... but someone from the Kirby tree, and news flash, we will never get "another Saban". We have been privileged. That is over. I hope we get the ship righted sooner than later.

I have held off commenting because I wanted time to pass to see if my negative reaction to the FSU game would change. It has not. When Saban first got to T-Town he said he wanted a team that no other team wanted to play again. Well, last year and the FSU game proved to me that we don't have such a team. When the players made mistakes or showed they lacked toughness or effort Saban would chew their butts. And the same for coaches who messed up. And Saban would do it at practice and during a game. He was energized, excited and determined for excellence. He set a very high standard for Bama. Conversely, KD stands still on the sideline with his arms crossed like he's watching the Masters Golf Tournament. It seems he is afraid to hurt the feelings of players and coaches. KD has such a large payout I'm afraid he will kill the Bama standard and program. Sad!

After watching that FSU game several times, our linebacker play made me remember something one of my high school coaches used to say when we were installing a game plan and players were reacting slow and being hesitant. He would say “if you have to think, you’re already beat!” You have to KNOW your assignment and reads and just react, not think. Our players are thinking and unsure of what they are doing. If that continues, we won’t stop anybody.,

Absolutely true but the Bama DC has taken the disconnect a step further. With both LB's "mugging" (walked up at the LOS) so often, at the snap their first two or three step are backward instead of reacting forward. They lost almost a full second before the read & react can kick in. By that time the blockers are already on them and they are two or three steps from where they sould be before any "react" kicks in.
