re: Devonta will be remembered as the best of the 4 but I still like Jeudy the most

What's kind of crazy is that none of our stud WRs in the Saban era have been "prima donnas." WRs in general are notorious for being headcases, especially when they get to the NFL, but somehow, someway, from Julio to Smith, they all seem to be lunch pail, hard-working, team guys. That's one of the most impressive things to me. Saban is truly an enigma.

Cooper was probably the biggest diva. But I also remember Jeudy having some attitude problems on the field.

I remember Ridley getting frustrated in 2017 when Hurts hit the wall.

Yeah because Ridley was cooking DBs all day long and Jalen couldn't get him the ball.
A good question is where does Ridley compare to the recent 4. If we are playing fantasy football, he's probably getting picked ahead of all the others.

I will always remember how much the offense transformed when Tua came in the game against UGA in 2017. All of the wide outs played with more confidence. Then Jalen came in the next year and saved our asses. Crazy series of events.

Like it or not, a player's success, or lack thereof, in the NFL goes a long way in how they're perceived even as college players.
Julio is a future HOF so he's a legend. Derrick Henry is the back to back NFL rushing champ...on a path to the HOF. Trent Richardson, while a great college RB, flamed out in the NFL and won't be put in the same category as a Henry or Ingram.
Ridley has established himself as a Pro Bowl caliber player... it'll be interesting to see if he sustains it over 5-6+ seasons. The jury is obviously still out on the 4 WRs. I do know the Raiders need to start giving Ruggs more targets. And even though I'm not an Aaron Rodgers fan... I'd love to see Jeudy's numbers if he ended up in Denver.

We tend to think of our great players by their great plays. I remember Jeudy being really impressive...but what about his memorable great significant plays?
Devonta had them in spades. 2nd and 26. Smoking "Tuff" boreland." The one handed leap against LSU. I could make a laundry list.
You're right: Smitty will be remembered as the best. Deservedly so.
Amari Cooper is the only one since Julio that comes close.

more slippery than Devonta and just overall fun to watch after the catch.
I like Jeudy, but this is a bad take on Smith. His speed was deceptive and route running tremendous. He was almost not able to be covered. And, there are plenty of examples of him slipping through traffic or catching the edge for a big gain or TD when it would seem he'd be tackled or knocked out of bounds.
Devonta made what may be a top 10 DB his bitch 2 years in a row.
Right next to Julio as two best in Saban era

Man I’m kinda with you on Jeudy. Dude started showing out immediately. Devante had has plays plays and absolutely had the best single season of all of them but he was still a first rounder hiding in a sea a first rounders. There was a reason he didn’t fully assert himself until the rest of the crew was was out.
Was Smith the most accomplished? Abso fricking lutely. Best? Hard to compare a dude who had his best season when he should of been playing on Sundays against the rest. Only so many balls to go around and shite.
And to the folks who said Jeudy never made plays. In 18 vs LSU who broke some ankles that caused the DBs to collide and take themselves out like a kids movie version football. Jeudy had some Waddle esque slipperiness that gets forgotten.
Smith might have legit overtaken him and sure as shite did from a college perspective his senior year, but there is a reason during his first three years at Bama that both Alabama’s and the opponents coaching staff considered him a tiny step behind Jeudy.

Jeudy has drop issues that Devonta has never shown. That job #1 for a receiver. Jeudy has got a little more flash. But Devonta has all the clutchness.

would put Jeudy and Smith a tad above Ruggs and Waddle.
If we're going for the homerun, give me Ruggs and Waddle all day. Watching them hit that frick you you ain't catching me gear was a thing of beauty

Both Smith and Jeudy were homerun hitters too. Being a threat to take it to the house every play isn’t just about pure speed. Jerry Rice didn’t have a blazing 40 yet his highlights are filled with him outrunning the defense.
Jeudy averaged 19.3 ypc in 2018 which led the team. Smith averaged slightly below Ruggs and higher then Waddle with an 18.5 ypc average. More impressive for both Jeudy in 2018 and Smith in 2019 because they had more catches. Which means they had overall more long receptions.

The Jeudy hate in this thread astounds me. Dude destroyed people on the regular and it’s like he played for LSU around here now.

Saying we think the GOAT is the best (over Jeudy) isn't "hating" on Jeudy.
