Hope you are satisfied with that. If we outperform it this year, our OL coach should win assistant coach of the year.

I’m convinced Chris Kapilovic is one of the worst O line coaches in the history of Alabama football. I know Doug Marrone, Eric Woolford and Bob Connelly were all terrible but IMO Kapilovic was maybe the worst.

I know there will always be guys who (for whatever reason) just can’t make the leap from HS to college but I absolutely refuse to believe most of our former 4-5 star recruits were/are busts.

I’m optimistic about Coach Klemm and people are going to be freaking amazed at how improved Bama’s offensive line is.

Honestly, improved offensive line play won’t solve all of Bama’s problems but it’ll go a long way toward that.

ETA- Ty must have done something right to be considered one of the best QBs available in the upcoming draft playing behind a god awful OL

Nah, just not a very good crop of QBs to choose from. Any other year and he’s 3rd round or lower. If I was a team, I would wait it out to get him. He’s not ready to be an NFL starter.

Wow, so you can 100 per cent guarantee that about Ty? Do you also have the upcoming winning Powerball numbers too? Asking for a friend.

You must not read or remember my posts. I’m the guy saying people need to understand what a very inexperienced OL and QB means for next year. It’s a rebuilding year with hopes that we can keep everyone to run it back in 2027 for a shot at the NC.

I’ve literally said that it would be a very significant outlier for any 1st year starter at QB to win the NC, and just want Bama to have a shot at least every other year to even be in contention.

For a guy who supposedly can’t throw a deep ball (according to some of the experts” on here), he seems to throw a pretty nice deep passes.

Ty was the best QB throwing today from everything I've read. He really helped himself and probably sealed his #2 QB status. Might start to hear more whispers that he's actually the top QB.

From Sports Illustrated:
quote:

Simpson was the best quarterback on the field Saturday. He was consistently accurate, poised and precise, and his arm strength matched what his film suggested. Simpson entered combine week trying to prove he belongs in the first round after a disappointing second half to end his season, and he delivered a convincing performance in Indianapolis.

Honestly - offensive line worries aside - a lack of a running game and a decent back (which is kinda unforgivable for Bama’s level of play) led him to be much more ineffective later in the year. Jam was a huge disappointment.

I think the defense would have been even better if they were off the field more as well.

All upvotes for that post but somehow 90% of the board still wanted him gone.

How’s the song go…”Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone. They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot.” Good times, good times (although Russell is probably a lot better than a metaphorical parking lot )

The Browns need a big time upgrade at OL, so I fear that Ty would be getting the pro version of what he played behind in 2025.
