How long are you going to continue in this foxhole by yourself? Ty is gone, he’s not coming back, there’s probably not a damn thing we could have done to keep him, we have who we have, accept it and move on or go find someone else to root for.

Brother, sometimes being by yourself is the best place to be. Herd mentality is real.
I haven’t read a single poster admit it was stupid to say we should move on from a potential 2nd year senior starter as good as Ty to a true sophomore 1st year starter. I’ve already said that we might not have been able to keep him multiple times, but that doesn’t excuse the ignorance of the herd.
The majority of posters still think underclassman 1st time starters aren’t an issue for winning and those will be the same posters calling for DeBoer’s job next year due to a complete lack of understanding of how this works. It’s sad really, and a bit embarrassing to be lumped in as a Bama alum with people that can’t see the writing on the wall.

Ty looked as well throwing the ball as he ever has. He was really dropping dimes out there! I think the rest really has helped him. Too bad coach didn’t have enough confidence in our backups to give Ty the rest he needed during the season.

Or just have to chalk it up to bad injury luck at the QB position (some of that blame is on our fired OL coach). Season defining QB injuries happen all the time in college and NFL, which is why sometimes the healthiest team is the team that wins the ‘ship.
On a somewhat positive note, imagine the QB controversy we’d be in if Ty didn’t finish the season. His ability to gut it out and play somewhat decent football while being injured has him in the running for a top half 1st rd pick.

Giving up on the upcoming season in early March because we'll have a new QB is a wild take.

Give this dude a decent running game and a functional OLine.
"90%" is just a silly thing to say, especially after it came out just how injured the guy was in the second half of the season. He got a lot of support from the actual 'Bama fans/non-troll portion of this board.
The only reason anyone rational "wanted him gone" was to keep Keelon Russel happy and on the roster in this age of NIL.

All upvotes for that post but somehow 90% of the board still wanted him gone.

Kansas City just made a trade with the Rams for that 2nd 1st round pick of the Rams. Ty might have lost his spot in the 1st round.
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to trade All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams as the headliner of a blockbuster deal, per ESPN. The teams agreed to a trade that sends four draft picks to Kansas City. The Chiefs will reportedly receive the No. 29 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, along with a fifth-round pick, a sixth-round pick and a 2027 third-rounder.

Quaterback play is not going to be DeBoer's problem in the future. He needs to address all the other aspects. The best passer I ever saw was Joe Namath and Madden said the same thing. He was definitely a head of his time. The Jets had few if any winning seasons when he was their quarterback except for the year they won the Super Bowl. Good teams make good quarterbacks. The two quarterbacks that benefitted the most from the teams they played on were Bart Starr and Joe Montana. Their play fit the rhythm of the team. Both of them were capable of making big plays when they were needed, which was not that often.

It's definitely one less possibility now.
Hope he avoids Cleveland. Maybe the Steelers.
