I heard before the game our D-Line was depleted due to injury's, was this a response due to lack of healthy players? Surely they couldn't think this line up would work.....could they?

Against our OL it might work.

Against better OL, obviously not. Only thing I can think of is Will is better than our other DL at holding the point. Which if that’s true we have real problems

My goodness. Thanks RT1987 for posting this video.

Though I've never understood how Turner and Anderson could be so ineffective in some sets, I couldn't realize how schematically bad we were on our defense scheme until this breakdown.

G-Mac, love him or hate him, said something insightful after the UTk loss, which stuck with me.

'Teams have a tendency [and Bama is doing it now] to fall into a trap of scheming a defense based what would affect your offense'.

His statement is telling of how short-sighted that can be.

Anyone who disagrees with the commentary videos posted this week is being negative and delusional and make themselves look stupid.

Obviously we all know Golding is bad, but this video was incredibly eye-opening to just how bad the scheme and play calling are with Pete Golding as DC.

I’ve noticed Anderson on the inside many times this year. Made no sense at all. He’s an edge guy, putting him inside takes him out of the play.

I’ve got no problem putting Anderson on the inside, occasionally, to change things up, maybe get a better matchup, maybe confuse the OL. In the ‘93 Sugar Bowl, they moved Curry and Copeland around the whole game…sometimes both in the middle, sometimes both on the right, sometimes both on the left, and sometimes in their natural positions…confused the hell outta Miami and Torretta didn’t know where they were coming from. But that was 30 years ago and was part of the best defensive game plan in Bama history…

My biggest concern is dropping him back in coverage or using him in a mush rush; he’s the best at applying pressure and can’t do it in either of those cases so it seems a waste to me. He can still rush the passer/tackle for loss from the middle…

Maybe Pete Golding is the only guy willing to run this defense, set up by Coach Saban. There must be a reason why Golding has been here for this long. Saban is trying and failing to shut down the modern offense with these exotic and mysterious defenses. He can’t crack the code. This is Saban’s defense. It’s always going to be his defense as long as he is HC.

Saban has GOT to be smarter about who he hires

He got lazy.
The constant turnover wore him down.

It's not just Golding. It's the same system we've used since 2007.

You will have to show me the film of Kirby and Pruitt running defenses with 1 DL or playing the Jack rushing against interior OL.
