Tosh running a defense is not a good fit for anyone. Dude is an elite recruiter but running a defense is not his bag.

ETA: You can sacrifice good coaching for recruiting at most positions, but you better have someone that can really coach for your coordinators unless the HC plans on running that side of the ball (and Mario ain't running either side of the ball).

Either of the UGA guys would be awesome hires . They have a good scheme and those guys fly to the football . They are consistently one of the last great defensive teams left

I thought Minty Rice was a 5 star from Rome, GA. This is from memory.... too lazy to look it up

Monty Rice is from Madison.

He played on the same high school team and graduated with LaBryan Ray and Kyriq McDonald.

Plus Tosh has spent a lot of time in the west coast. Seems like a good fit

Pretty sure he's a Cali guy. Which is the essential state to recruit for Oregon to be successful.

Nick didn't want to lose Tosh due to recruiting abilities so he made a mistake in moving Tosh to a chair that didn't fit. Nick is still trying to recover from that mistake and lost Tosh recruiting ability as well.

That's a tad hyperbolic imo.

There is still some room for improvement at DC, but I don't think Saban is trying to recover from Tosh. I'm pretty sold on Schumann and would be more than happy if he replaces Golding, but Saban has won championships with a number of different coordinators on each side of the ball and staff turnover is basically an annual tradition now. If he thinks he can upgrade from Golding, i'm sure he will. If not, Saban has already shown that we can win it all with Golding and the defense next year figures to be much more experienced.

Looks like Charlie Strong will coach LB's for Urban in Jacksonville.

If Sark doesn't take Pete, I think it's because Saban really wants Pete to stay and Sark doesn't want to piss him off anymore than he already has. I know a lot of Bama fans think Pete is a bad DC, and I'll admit to having doubts after last season and after the Ole Miss game, but the defense got better as the season went on. If Saban fights to keep him then it is obvious that he thinks Golding is a quality DC.

Even if that is the case, if Saban isn't sold on Golding's DC ability then he'd find him somewhere else to go like he has done in the past with other coaches {looking at you Tosh}. So if Golding sticks around, it's because Saban considers him to be the best option as the DC at Alabama.

Tim Watts says Bill O'Brien already has an office in the football complex.

Stoutland may end up staying in the NFL.

Tosh and Cristobal would be a hell of a recruiting duo!

Jeff may have had enough of the recruiting game. He is only 58 but maybe dealing with the pricks in the NFL is easier than having to kiss the butt of 16-18 year old 7 days a week.

If Stoutland stays in the NFL, I wonder if Brent Key could be in play to come back. He played at Georgia Tech when O’Brien was the OC.
